Melissa Marino
Principal
Wawaloam Elementary School
100 Victory Highway
Exter, RI

Dear Principal Marino,

I am writing to you eagerly in response to a position for a Kindergarten teacher posted on the
Districts website. I am greatly interested in this position as I have a long time relationship with working
with early childhood students that receive special education services such as inclusion and specialized
support for the past year. I have also performed over 30 observation and community learning hours in
order to broaden my repertoire of skills inclined towards students affected by disabilities. I can visually
see myself as an extraordinary candidate to continue my educational career in a District that shares the
same goals and has the passion to exceed any expectations.

As a current elementary tutor, I have had the opportunity to work with a range of culturally
diverse and ELL students. This experience has open my eyes to how important a culturally diverse and
inclusion classroom can benefit the needs of all students, no matter what their background or economic
status. I have been able to surround myself with opportunities that broaden my view on different
teaching methods that will help students learn in different ways and in different settings.

Working as a tutor in an elementary school has benefit my learning career because I have
witnessed and helped students grow. I have also found very rewarding outcomes to see students who
were struggling before and now are finding confidence and succeeding. I have also witnessed how
working together with the students parents can be very beneficial to the learning process of each
student.
As a future educator, I vow to uphold the highest standards not only for myself but for all of my
students no matter what their background, economic status, disability, or willingness to learn. I will
personally make sure that each and every student is catered to in the least restrictive and most caring
environment possible in order to uphold the districts vision for each and every student to be prepared to
be outstanding citizens and look forward to a higher education with the correct tools.

Sincerely,

Leslye Barraza
