Introduction

A coffeehouse or coffee shop is an establishment which primarily serves prepared coffee or

other hot beverages. It shares some of the characteristics of a bar, and some of the characteristics
of a restaurant, but it is different from a cafeteria. As the name suggests, coffeehouses focus on
providing coffee and tea as well as light snacks. From a cultural standpoint, coffeehouses largely
serve as centers of social interaction: the coffeehouse provides social members with a place to
congregate, talk, write, read, entertain one another, or pass the time, whether individually or in
small groups of 2 or 3. Historically cafs have been an important social gathering point in
Europe. They were and continue to be venues where people gather to talk, write, read, entertain
one another, or pass the time. During the 16th-century coffeehouses were banned in Mecca
because they attracted political gatherings.

In addition to coffee, many cafs also serve tea, sandwiches, pastries, and other light
refreshments. Some provide other services, such as wired or wireless internet access (thus the
name, "internet caf" which has carried over to stores that provide internet service without
any coffee) for their customers.

Internet caf ,the high- tech equivalent of the coffee house. However, instead of playing chess or
having heated political discussions, you browse the internet and discuss the latest technology.
CDs, DVDs, games and other cyber stuff are also generally available. The students can get
more information regarding their task and subjects. Their knowledge and communication skill
increases by using net. They can rejoice themselves by having coffee.

DISCUSSION

PURPOSE

Black tea cafeobjectives for the first two years of operation include:

The creation of a unique, upscale, innovative environment that will differentiate Black tea
cafefrom local coffee houses.
Educating the community on what the Internet has to offer.
The formation of an environment that will bring people with diverse interests and
backgrounds together in a common forum.
Good coffee and bakery items at a reasonable price.
Affordable access to the resources of the Internet and other online service
The establishment of Black tea cafeas a community hub for socialization and
entertainment.
The creation of an environment that won't intimidate the novice user. Black tea cafewill
position itself as an educational resource for individuals wishing to learn about the benefits the
Internet has to offer.

Procedure

1. We will open our Black tea cafein the right location of COMSATS. It will target a local
customer base. We will provide the best atmosphere in internet coffee shop, because
every locale contains many subsets of demographics.

2. We will scope out the competition. We will charge more or less for our coffee products
and internet caf , but the overall experience should reflect the price-point value of your
product.
7

3. We will set up free access to wireless Internet for your coffee shop. This gets people in
the door and gives them a reason to stay.

4. We will make our wings club as comfortable as possible. The more inviting the
atmosphere, the longer customers will stay and the more loyal they will become. Include
plenty of seating, but don't cramp the space. Sofas and booths help as well. Plenty of
traditional table seating is also necessary. We will provide them with music for
amusement.

5. We will Offer food. This keeps customers in your coffee shop for longer periods of time.

6. Use "Buy Ten, Get One Free" stamp cards to give customers incentive to buy often. Each
time a customer buys a drink or food item, stamp the card. When it fills up, he can turn it
in for a free drink of any size. It will be as followed for internet caf usage.

7. Play the right music. If you find that customers come to your coffee shop to study, keep
the volume down. Keep an eye on your demographics, and play the right music for the
right crowd. Experiment with music tastes and listen to feedback. Once you find a style
of music your customers like, try to stick with it. Your best bet is to pump in some
customized satellite radio.

8. Keep everything clean, neat, orderly and self-apparent. For example, if you are set up to
have customers bus their own dishes, place the busing containers in plain sight. Fix any
broken or rocking tables as they develop problems. Keep the sugar and condiment station
fully stocked. Make sure nothing is sticky for longer than a few minutes. Situate the
order, pick-up and payment counters in plain view.
8

9. Keep supplies well stocked at all times, and do not stop serving anything because it is an
hour to closing time.

10. Maintain transparent accounting. Run cash-outs at the end of every cashier shift to
maintain accountability.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Product quality: Food, coffee-based beverages, and entertainment are our products. They
must be of the high quality and value.
Service: Our patrons are paying to have a good time. Their experience will suffer if service is
not of the highest caliber. Each member of the staff will be courteous, efficient, and attentive.
Marketing: We will need to target our audience early and often. While the business is
located in a central and accessible location, many people will have to be re-introduced to the
customer.
Management: We will need to have a firm grasp on food, beverage, and labor costs. The
dining/entertainment/coffeehouse experience must be delivered in a fashion that will not only
inspire repeat business, but encourage word-of-mouth recommendations to others. Proper
inventory, employee management, and quality control are key.
Environment:We will provide the best and friendly environment where customer can
peacefully do their task and rejoice themselves with delicious tastes.

Internet cafs are located worldwide, and many people use them when traveling to access
webmail and instant messaging services to keep in touch with family and friends. Apart from
travelers, in many developing countries Internet cafs are the primary form of Internet access
for citizens as a shared-access model is more affordable than personal ownership of
equipment and/or software. A variation on the Internet caf business model is the LAN
gaming center, used for multiplayer gaming. These cafs have several computer stations
connected to a LAN. The connected computers are custom-assembled for gameplay,
supporting popular multiplayer games. This is reducing the need for video arcades and arcade
games, many of which are being closed down or merged into Internet cafs. The use of
Internet cafs for multiplayer gaming is particularly popular in certain areas of Asia like
China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea and the Philippines. In some countries, since
practically all LAN gaming centers also offer Internet access, the terms net cafe and LAN
gaming center have become interchangeable. Again, this shared-access model is more
affordable than personal ownership of equipment and/or software, especially since games
often require high end and expensive PCs.

History of coffee

The Ottoman chronicler brahim Peevi reports in his writings (1642-49) about the opening of
the first coffeehouse in Istanbul:

Until the year 962, in the High, God-Guarded city of Constantinople, as well as in Ottoman lands
generally, coffee and coffee-houses did not exist. About that year, a fellow called Hakam from
Aleppo and a wag called Shams from Damascus came to the city; they each opened a large shop
in the district called Tahtakale, and began to purvey coffee.

Various legends involving the introduction of coffee to Istanbul at a "Kiva Han" in the late 15th
century circulate in culinary tradition, but with no documentation.

Coffeehouses in Mecca soon became a concern as places for political gatherings to the imams
who banned them, and the drink, for Muslims between 1512 and 1524. In 1530, the first coffee
house was opened in Damascus, and not long after there were many coffee houses inCairo.
12

The 17th Century French traveler Jean Chardon gave a lively description of
the Persian coffeehouse scene:

People engage in conversation, for it is there that news are communicated and where those
interested in politics criticize the government in all freedom and without being fearful, since the
government does not heed what the people say. Innocent games... resembling checkers,
hopscotch, and chess, are played. In addition, moll as, dervishes, and poets take turns telling
stories in verse or in prose. The narrations by the molls and the dervishes are moral lessons, like
our sermons, but it is not considered scandalous not to pay attention to them. No one is forced to
give up his game or his conversation because of it. A moll will stand up in the middle, or at one
end of the qahveh-khaneh, and begin to preach in a loud voice, or a dervish enters all of a
sudden, and chastises the assembled on the vanity of the world and its material goods. It often
happens that two or three people talk at the same time, one on one side, the other on the opposite,
and sometimes one will be a preacher and the other a storyteller.
