ICT4E Initiative Reflection Paper

The ICT4E initiative that our group decided on was a website. In the beginning we had a lot of
choices. We wanted to make an instructional video, or something that would revolve around our
field of study which is early childhood education. But our ideas remained ideas since there was
something that our chosen school didnt have. When we went to the school to conduct an
observation and gather data as to what they need, we found that the school didn't have a website.

This was a bit alarming since in our time today wherein technology is used everywhere and
anywhere, schools should have a website available for the public for better access. They also
didnt have active social media handles, which pushed us further into wanting to make a website
for the school

The creation of our website was not a walk in the park. Since the website maker that we used
only allows one editor at a time, it took us a while to finish it. With the permission of the school
owner, we gathered pictures online. Since one of our group mates is the daughter of the owner,
we were able to get precise information about the school and messages from the owner herself.
Making a website is new to me. It was confusing and downright complicated. I made some of the
descriptions, suggested some edits, and made a powerpoint for the presentation. Together with
Mia, we made the manual for the website, so that when we hand over the website to the future
administrator, he or she would know what to do. When the website was published, the school had
to review and evaluate it once again. There were a couple of slight revisions, such as the color of
the website, but we were able to consider their suggestions and edit the website. Overall, it was a
challenging experience because there were a lot of requirements and data to be gathered.
