Creating My E-Portfolio Website

1. I saw that Weebly was on the list for websites that I could use, and I did have some
experience with that web site. Having prior experience with that format made the
selection of Weebly easy.
2. I created a new account with Weebly and decided to go with the free version of the
website for this project. I began to build my free page at this point.
3. I first chose a theme for my site. I went with a portfolio theme since that was what I was
building anyway and chose the theme called journey.
4. After the selection of my theme, I had to choose a domain name. The domain that I
chose was oneandtwohalves.weebly.com. I chose this name in case I wanted to use this
site a blog in the future to write about being a single father of two.
5. After choosing my site domain I began to make edits to my site. I cleared out much of
the stock images and began to replace images found through their search feature on
Weebly. The images I chose to use were education based as I am a teacher. The images
were coming from a source called Flikr which was a third party built directly into
Weebly.
6. After I had removed the parts of the theme I did not need at this time I renamed headers,
tabs, and links on the site to fit the needs of the portfolio.
7. I made sure that each of the mages on my site had the same color header and the same
font. I made sure I used the exact same color by using the color code number and
applying that to the header for each of the multimedia pages.
8. Once I made sure that my pages all worked and looked how I wanted them to look I
added a quick intro that introduced myself on the front page that I could add to later. I
also added information about why the page was created. After giving the information
about the program that I am in I added a link to the WGU page that is for the Learning
and Technology masters. https://www.wgu.edu/online-teaching-degrees/technology-
education-masters-program.html
9. After I made sure that worked, I gave my page another once over to make sure there was
nothing more that I wanted to change right away. I found a contact form on the front
page that I decided to keep in case anyone wanted to e-mail me after viewing my
portfolio.
10. After I had my side how I wanted it to look I clicked publish and brought my page to life!
