JOURNAL ENTRY 04:

December 4, 2023 – Finalizing Writing & Uploading Content to My Website

Since my last journal entry, I have scheduled and conducted my interviews with Ms.
Neimi and Ms. Gunning, I have edited and finalized all my written content for my website
which included; “Navigating the School System” and “Strategies for School Life” sections
of my website. Pages include; Getting an IEP, Importance of a Caseworker, Working With
Teachers, Advocating for Yourself, Technology, Study-Writing Techniques, and
Communication. All these pages are now done. I decided to remove Mindfulness because
it didn’t fit with the theme of my website.

When interviewing my teachers, I ran into a problem immediately where I didn’t have
enough storage on my phone to record the video. I used my core competency strengths
in critical thinking by developing a work around by deleting over half my camera roll while
ensuring that I didn’t delay the interview. It worked out. I was then unable to send the
video from my phone to my laptop because I had no iCloud storage. I had to purchase
additional storage in order for me to make this work and be able to edit my videos.

I have edited my interview videos which are ready for both teacher’s approval and I have
received their written responses to my questionnaires. Questionnaires have been
uploaded and the video is ready to go up when I receive their ok. I have added several
links and YouTube Videos to my website to support my content.

I decided to create my own logo for my website, which is not something I set out to do
initially but I felt I needed a brand/logo to add to my videos and to my website that was
unique to me. I used my core competency strengths in the areas of generating ideas,
developing ideas and personal strengths and abilities along with what I’ve learned in my
graphics courses to design a unique logo that fit my product. I chose to make it simple,
one-colour, so it could be used with different backgrounds, as I wanted it to be easy to
recognize/brand while fitting with the theme of my product. You can see my drafts and
final logo in evidence.
I have updated my time tracking spreadsheet and looked ahead to what is next for
finalizing my website and the overall Capstone project.

This week I plan to finalize any final touches, add pictures, additional resources and to
finish my references as well as resources so I can publish my website.
