The Celebrity Gossip Newspaper assignment we completed this week was by far the hardest for
me. Before doing it, I thought it would be the easiest because of the prefabricated articles. I
learned how to manipulate other individual’s articles to ensure they fitted in the shapes I
selected for them. I learned the text box feature was most useful when trying to place captions
and the headlines. The shapes were the most use because I could change the articles size by
changing the shape size. Also, I took advantage of the many features for the article’s
backgrounds, such as shadow for visual effects for the article’s backgrounds and different fill
and outline characteristics. Each time I started a new assignment, I had to reconfigure the
ribbon, and I did watch some videos on YouTube to try to learn how to make them permanent
to no avail. I took this portion of creating my images as a learning method. I am now abreast
on how to add what additional effects and features I need on my ribbon to successfully
complete the tasks at hand.

The most important aspect I did learn from completing this assignment, is not to be afraid when
tackling lesson plans. There are numerous resources, from online to mentors I may encounter
on my journey to becoming a teacher. ensure I set aside enough time for completion of the
lesson plan, and most importantly, choose a lesson plan that is beneficial for this type of
presentation. I know I would be able to utilize this type of presentations to teach my students
how to do an explanatory essay. With the presentation of my Celebrity Gossip Newspaper, I
would probably assign my students an assignment where they would have to several essays
throughout the year, with this final project showcasing all their assigned essays and discussions.
It will essentially serve as a book of their accomplishments at the end of the year that they can
have as a reference and reflection tool for further educational purposes.
