Response to Question #1
What factors contribute to brain growth?

How can different factors influence the way your brain grows? Well, one very

important part of brain development is parenting styles. Having positive parents versus

negative parents can actually contribute to the way your brain grows. The way a child's

parents behave can affect the type of brain a child has.

By simply being negative as a parent you can keep your child's brain from

developing positively. An example of this is when parents over coddle their children, or

they basically baby them (1). This is because as the child is developing they learn that

someone is always there and they do not need to be independent. Then the child will

grow up and not be able to take care of themselves because they never learned, and

instead was dependent of a parent. Another example of this is when parents try to

control every aspect of their child's life (2). When you are a child you are supposed to

explore and find new activities that you enjoy or want to participate in. But, if your

parents are controlling you then the child never learns how to make decisions, and are

more likely to want to rebel against their parents wishes and not enjoy that specific

activity. If have negative parents then your brain as a child could miss some important

aspects of its growth.

A child's brain development can be influenced by their parents behavior. As a

child if your parents are negative then your brain could fail to gain as much information

as it should. Hopefully when you become a parent you are always positive and

encouraging, not negative and controlling.
