MATERIAL CROSS SECTION AREA BETWEEN SKIRTBOARDS
The material constrained by skirtboards is analyzed by calculating the trapezoidal and surcharge areas
per Asc above and adding a rectangular area contacting the skirting. The CEMA recommended
skirtboard width to belt width ratio is 0.67 BW.
