Qatar Aviation Services


Qatar Aviation Services (QAS) is the ground handling arm of the Qatar Airways Group.
QAS provides passenger and cargo ground handling services to the Qatar Airways fleet in
Doha, as well as to all other carriers which serve Hamad International Airport. With a
headcount of more than 8,000 people, its rapid expansion has paralleled that of Qatar
Airways with numerous new cargo and passenger-handling projects and facilities planned
for the future.

Qatar Airways Cargo


Qatar Airways Cargo provides air cargo services through its reliable
and quality-driven product offering and its world-class network. At
present, QR Cargo delivers to approximately 150 locations
worldwide as well as to 48 cargo-specific destinations utilizing the
Qatar Airways passenger fleet as well as dedicated freighter aircraft.
In 2014, QR Cargos achievements included the commencement of
freighter services to 11 new destinations.

Qatar Duty Free


Qatar Duty Free (QDF) provides passengers with an unparalleled shopping
emporium at the heart of Hamad International Airport. With more than 40,000
square metres of combined retail and dining space, QDF offers customers an
unparalleled passenger experience that is both memorable and relaxing. QDF
has curated an exciting mix of luxury retail, meaningful and thoughtful purpose-
driven shops, both favourite and familiar. QDF was named Global Travel
Retailer of the Year at the 2015 Duty Free News International Global Awards.
Qatar Airways Catering Company
Launched in August 2002, Qatar Airways Catering Company (QACC) was formed to provide
exclusive catering services to Qatar Airways and other airlines operating out of Doha. QACCs self-
contained catering facility at HIA spans an extraordinary 69,000 square metres, making it one of the
largest of its kind. Qatar Airways and QACC continue to deliver an excellent dining experience to all
those who fly with the airline.

Qatar Executive
Qatar Executive offers global jet aircraft charter services together with executive jet aircraft
management, maintenance and handling. Through its state-of-the-art fleet of Bombardier
Global and Challenger aircraft, and new Gulfstream G650ER aircraft which flies faster and
further than any other executive jet. Qatar Executive provides its clients with the flexibility to

Hamad International Airport


Hamad International Airport is our international gateway to Qatar and the rest of the
world. Spread over 600,000 square metres, HIA has the capacity to eventually
meet the needs of more than 50 million passengers. It is also expected to handle
320,000 aircraft movements and 2 million tonnes of cargo annually.

Qatar Airways Privilege Club


Qatar Airways Privilege Club is the loyalty division of Qatar
Airways. It offers passengers a range of travel rewards and
benefits.
Qatar Distribution Company
The Qatar Distribution Company is the only licensed retail distributor of wines and spirits in Qatar. The store has a wide
range of beverages that can be purchased by licensed hotels and qualifying private individuals.

Internal Media Services


Internal Media Services manages the portfolio of out-of-home advertising opportunities at Hamad
International Airport. Since 2002, its sales and operations teams have helped local, regional and global
brands deliver a range of communication solutions, powerful long-term branding campaigns, tactical
promotions of events and products, and engaging activations where brand ambassadors are on site to assist
passengers.

Qatar Airways Holidays is the package holiday division of Qatar Airways. QR Holidays offer a diverse

Al Maha Services
Al Maha Services is a personalized meet-and-assist service for passengers arriving, departing or

Moving to a new country can feel daunting. Over the next few pages, we will share with you a little of what life
is like in Doha.

Qatar is located in the heart of the Arabian Gulf on a peninsula off the coast of Saudi Arabia. As of 2007, oil and natural
gas revenues have enabled Qatar to attain the highest per capita income in the world and the Qatari government has
devoted much of this revenue to developing world-class education and healthcare facilities for the countrys citizens
and residents.

Qatar is a modern and cosmopolitan country, which has successfully retained its traditional Muslim culture and
heritage. Expatriate residents make up the bulk of the countrys population, with many more
new residents arriving each month.
Your Life in Qatar: Housing

To meet the needs of our staff and their families, Qatar Airways has worked with the international
education management company, Orbital Education to establish the Oryx International School.
The Oryx International School is an independent day school for boys and girls from 4-11 years of age. It caters
exclusively to the children of Qatar Airways employees and will, in due course, expand to include older age groups
as well.
The curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum adapted to meet the needs of a wide range of
nationalities.
The school opened on 10 January 2016 and is accepting student enrolment.
The Principal, Susan Brown, has an extensive background within the education sector both in Qatar as well as in
the United Kingdom. The school is staffed by a well-qualified team of internationally-experienced teachers and
learning assistants.
The school is managed by Orbital Education, a major British education management company. Orbital operates 10
campuses worldwide, from China to Ecuador and educates children from 95 nationalities.

Sherborne Qatar (SQ)
Sherborne Qatar is the only overseas school developed by an historic and distinguished British School
founded in 1550 under a royal charter. The school is a member of Qatars Supreme Education Councils
Outstanding Schools Programme. Outstanding schools are selected from top schools throughout the world
which teach accredited international or national curricula.
Sherborne Qatar has two schools: the Preparatory School (Pre-school - Year 6) and the Senior School
(Year 7 - Upper Sixth)
Sherborne Qatar will provide a fast-track application process for employees of Qatar Airways. The offer of
a school place will be subject to the schools usual academic criteria and availability in the required year
group. Assessment will usually take place at the school but can be based on school reports ( for children
currently in UK curriculum schools only). Only children of QA employees are eligible for consideration.

In addition to the Oryx International School, Qatar has a large
number of internationally accredited schools which provide
high quality private education. Some of these institutions are
listed below.
Doha College - Doha College was founded in the 1980s and follows the
British Curriculum. It has a student body of over 1,900 pupils from 75
nationalities. The school is academically selective.

Doha British School - Doha British School is an international school in the
Ain Khaled suburb of Doha. It opened in September 1997 and offers education
to students from pre-school to Year 13 (~ age 18).
The American School of Doha - Founded in 1988, the American School
of Doha is an independent, US-accredited college preparatory school. The
school has more than 2,100 students from 70 nationalities.
Doha English Speaking School - The Doha English Speaking School is
one of the oldest British Curriculum schools in Qatar.
Lyce Bonaparte - Lyce Bonaparte is a French international located in the

International Baccalaureate (IB) World School offering a US-based curriculum as

Birla Public School - The Birla Public School follows the Indian curriculum
and caters primarily to the Indian expatriate community in Qatar.
Sherborne School, Qatar - Established in partnership with Sherborne
School, one of the oldest private schools in the United Kingdom, Sherborne
Qatar offers the British curriculum from pre-school to Year 13 (~ age 18).

Qatar Academy - The Qatar Academies are a group of private, co-educational schools in Qatar administered by Qatar Foundation.
Deutsche Internationale Schule - Founded in 2008, the German International School has been established as a recognized
German overseas School and is located in the Al Maamoura area of Doha.
Qatar-Finland International School - The Qatar Finland International School is an international, co-educational school based on
the best educational practices from Finland.
Park House English School - Located in the Abu Hamour area, Park House English School is private international English school
catering to students from pre-school to Year 13 (~ age 18).
Newton International School - Founded in 2006, Newton International School has a number of campuses located in various parts
of Doha and the surrounding suburbs. All pupils follow the National Curriculum of England and Wales alongside the Cambridge
International Primary Programme.
Lyce Franco - Qatarien Voltaire - Lyce Voltaire is a French international located in the West Bay district of Doha.
SEK International School - Located in West Bay , SEK offers students a multilingual, international education. The schools
language of instruction is English with a focus on Spanish and Arabic as second languages.
GEMS American Academy - GEMS American Academy follows the American curriculum, Located in Al Wukair, it currently offers
education up to Grade 9 (~ age 15).

Questions
My status is Invited to Interview how long will it take me to receive the invitation to attend an interview?
Once your status has been changed to Invited to Interview, you can expect one of our interview logistics coordinators to contact you
within one week.

When trying to upload the required documents the following message appears: Please contact HR department for further
details. Where do I get the contact details from?
Please contact your interview logistics coordinator by email and he/she will be able to assist you.

How can I change my interview date and time?


If you would like to change your interview date and time, please contact your interview logistics coordinator by email and he/she will be
able to assist you.

How long will it take to secure my visa?


In order to apply for a business visa, we will require a copy of your passport which must have a minimum validity of at least 6 months. It
will then take us approximately five working days to obtain your visa.

How long will I be required to stay in Doha?


You will need to arrive in Doha one day prior to your interview and you will depart Doha on the first available flight after your interview.

Can I bring my family with me?


If you wish to bring your family with you, you will need to make their travel arrangements yourself and will be responsible for covering any
costs associated with their travel, including visa expenses. Qatar Airways will only cover expenses incurred by the candidate being
interviewed.
Who do I contact in case of an emergency when I travel?
In the event of an emergency while travelling, please call the emergency number provided by your interview logistics coordinator in the
final interview confirmation email.

I am a GCC resident. Do I still require a business visa to enter Qatar?


GCC residents require a business visa issued by Qatar Airways to enter Doha.
GCC citizens do not require a business visa to enter Doha.

Do I have to bring anything with me to the interview?


If you have already provided all the required documents, you do not need to bring anything else with you on the day of your interview.

What is the working week in Doha?


The working week in Doha is from Sunday to Thursday.

How can I update my personal details after my status has been changed to Invited to Interview?
Log in to the Advanced Candidate Zone with your email address and Applicant Check-In password.
Click on Applicant Check-In on the right side of the page.
Click on Personal Details to view your current information and then select Update.

How can I update my CV and documents after my status has been changed to Invited to Interview?
Log in to the Advanced Candidate Zone with your email address and Applicant Check-In password.
Click on Applicant Check-In on the right side of the page
Click Applications.
Click on the Attachments button.
Click Select a File.
Attach your document. Please note that attachment size cannot exceed 1MB.
How can I update my details in the online application form after I have submitted it?
Please inform your interview logistics coordinator about the information that you would like to have updated and he/she will make the
necessary changes.

I cant login to my account, what should I do?


Please contact your interview logistics coordinator and he/she will be able to assist you.

If I change my user name (email address) will that have any impact on my previous applications?
These changes will not affect your previous applications. However, please note that your user name is different from your contact details.
In other words, if you have updated your email address under your login details and you wish to be contacted on this particular address,
please make sure you also update your email address under your contact details.

I have been asked to fill an online application form. Where do I find it?
Log in to the Advanced Candidate Zone with your email address and Applicant Check-In password.
Click Complete This First!
Click Data Form.
Click in View on the form you were requested to fill.
Fill the form.
Click Submit.

I withdrew my application by mistake. Can I apply again for the same vacancy?
Please contact your interview logistics coordinator and he/she will be able to assist you.

How can I withdraw my application?


Log in to the Advanced Candidate Zone with your email address and Applicant Check In password.
Click on Applicant Check-In on the right side of the page.
Click on Withdraw Application.
Select the vacancy from which you would like to withdraw your candidacy.
Inform us of the reason for your withdrawal.
Click Update.
If I have a telephone or a Skype interview, will it be followed by a face-to-face interview?
A telephone or Skype interview is one step in our selection process. If you have been successful at this stage, you will be invited for a face-
to-face interview. If, however, during your telephone or Skype interview it is determined that you are not a good fit to the role, you will not be
invited for a face-to-face interview, and will be advised accordingly.

What do the following status updates mean?


New Your application has not yet been reviewed.
Under Review Your CV is currently being reviewed by a member of the Qatar Airways team.
On Hold The position is currently on hold.
Screened You have not passed the essential screening questions for this role and, as such, your application will not be progressed further.

What are the next steps once I have completed my interview and how long will it take for me to receive an update?
Unless otherwise advised, you will receive feedback from your recruiter within 2-4 weeks of completing your interview. If you have been
successful, you will be contacted in relation to an offer and will be advised in relation to next steps. If you have not been selected, you will
receive an email notification informing you accordingly.
What to expect if you are selected
If you are successful in being selected for a role you will be contacted by the recruiter who will extend you a verbal offer.
Once you have accepted the verbal offer, the written offer will go through the internal approval process before it can be officially released and
sent to you.
The onboarding team will send you the written offer as soon as they receive it and they will be in contact with you to guide you through the
next steps.
During the onboarding process you will be required to provide a copy of the following documents:

Signed Non-Disclosure Agreement

Self & Family Details
If planning to seek permission to sponsor your family for residency in Qatar, you will require your Marriage Certificate and familys Birth
Certificates to be attested in the Qatar Embassy of your home country. If you are unable to do this, you will be able to have them
attested at your home country Embassy in Qatar. All attested documents will need to be stamped by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in
Qatar once you arrive.
Release Letter from Previous Employer: A release letter may be provided in one of the following formats:
No Objection Certificate (NOC)
Release letter stating that you are not in breach of any contractual obligations mandated by your previous employer, with a
mention of your last day of service.
The release letter must be from your current or most recent employer.
If you cannot provide a release letter as you have been unemployed or self-employed, you should notify us through FAST with a
question in the topic "Release Letters.
Document showing your name in Arabic: This is only required only for candidates of Arabic Nationalities with personal documentation
written in Arabic, for the purposes of translation.
The above requirements are not an exhaustive list and may differ depending on government regulations at the time of your joining.
