My name is Sir Francis Drake I cant

remember my actual birth date it is in

between 1540-1544. My parents are poor
farmers in Sir Francis Russell estate. I got
adopted by the Hawkins family which they
are merchants and pirates. When I was 18 it
was my first time in the sea. In 1560s, I
have earned my own ship named the Judith.
At first, me and my cousin John Hawkins
sailed to Africa and work illegally as a slave
trader. Then, we sailed to New Spain to sell
their captives to people who just come to
start a new life at New Spain which is
against the law of Spain. In 1568, me and
John Hawkins was trapped by the Spanish
viceroy's forces many of my men are killed.
In 1572, I got an order from Queen
Elizabeth I to plunder all settlement
belonging to King Philip of Spain and that it
the start of my journey.
Later in 1572, the first place I attack
is Panama in South America where I first
sight the Pacific Ocean. I returned to
England by ship with large amount of
treasure and golds this earns me a
reputation as a leading privateer. In 1577,
Queen Elizabeth commissioned me to lead an
expedition around South America through
the Straits of Magellan. After plundering
Spanish ports along the west coast of South
America. I head north until the cold weather
of the north turns me back and claimed the
land treating native people nicely. I called
those land New Albion as a gift for Queen
Elizabeth. Although, going back from the
east is easier I choose heading back west
across the Pacific in July 1579, I stopped in
the Philippines and bought spices in the
Molucca Islands. Then sailed around the Cape
of Good Hope and arrived back in Englands
Plymouth Harbor in September 1580. In
1585, there was some hostilities heat up
between England and Spain. The Queen give
me the command of 25 ships to plunder
Spanish ports. I first sailed to the West
Indies and the coast of Florida and
mercilessly plundered Spanish ports there,
taking Santiago in the Cape Verde Islands,
Cartagena in Colombia, St. Augustine in
Florida and San Domingo. Then I lead an even
bigger fleet an amount of 30 ships into the
Spanish port of Cdiz and destroyed a large
number of vessels being readied for the
Spanish Armada and take to victory home.
You might think I must have been a
great merchant as I sailed a lot. So, I should
have found some interesting goods and
exchanged them from place to place. But the
truth was that I rarely bought or sold things
during my journey; only two times I did
something like trading. The first time was
when I sailed to Africa with my cousin,
Hawkins. I sold my captives to settlers in
Spain. However, it was illegal in Spain, so I
was so lucky that I was able to escape from
Spanish government. The second time was
when I went across the Pacific in 1579. I
bought spices in the Molucca Islands,
Philippines. The taste of the spices was
wonderful. It was hot and spicy but it made
the food differed from what we tested
every day. I loved it very much.

For all the treasure and precious

stones, I got it by being a piracy with my
crews. Thats why I was famous for what
people had called me a leading privateer.
To explore the world, we have never
known if it really exists is my desire. It not
only gives me an opportunity to get new
experience but also gives a good chance to
the world. For example, when I visited
Philippines, I saw Filipinos culture, their life
and also their food. I bought some spices
home so that my family could be able to try
new taste from Asia. Soon, British people
might use it in our food. Another positive
impact is what we have found so far. I have
found that there are a lot of precious stones
in Spain, so geographers can now know about
this and they can use this information to
group the properties of the lands.

However, sincerely, there is a negative

impact on the world during our exploration.
If we visit a place which has a lot of
treasure and rich of environment, it cant
help attacking the place and conquer all the
things on the land!
