REGULATION DRILL
COMPETITION
On December 10th 2016, M orse 5th Battalion competed
against 12 other schools within the San Diego Unified
School district at the Annual Best Drill Competition hosted
by M adison H igh School. After countless hours spent
preparing and practicing the M orse 5th Battalion placed
3rd place for Color Guard 1st year commanded by Puno
Fiona, 3rd place Best Individual Drill 2nd year; M arquez,
2nd place Best Individual Drill 3rd year; N guyen Steven,
and 1st place Best Individual Drill 4th year; Seapno
Robylene. Congratulations for those three that placed in
the Best Individual Drill.

Led by Puno, M orse Color Guard was invited to post the
colors at the Footlocker Cross Country championships.
Truly showed and represented M orse H igh School
through the flags.

STARLIGHT PARADE
On December 3, 2016 M orse AJROTC had the opportunity to take part in the annual Starlight Parade in
Downtown Chula Vista. With not only 50 States, but also the teams Unarmed, Armed, and Drum Corps
showing off their skills to a very "lit" crowd. Drum corps received the 3rd place M arching Band trophy.

SUPER PEP
On December 7th 2016 the Unarmed Fancy Drill Team Armed Fancy Drill Team and Drum Corps
performed in the annual SuperPep Rally. An event meant to promote friendly competition between
the classes. Each team was able to perform in front of their peers and exhibit to their fellow students
what teams and opportunities M orse JROTC has to offer

HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE ENDS


On the last day, December 15th, M orse AJROTC cadets collected cans to donate to families in need
during the holidays. Over 500 pounds of consumable goods were collected during the month long
project and given to the San Diego Food Bank to distribute to those in need. This community service
project was conducted in all SDUSD JROTC programs and the donations M orse cadet collected
helped contribute towards the Brigade goal.
