The 1894 Club
continues to bring new life
into the Grand Theatre. We
believe that the enjoyment of
good theatre is part of our
cultural heritage. Our function
is not only recreational; as
a respected Blackpool

theatre that is also educational
and formative. We foster partnerships with several companies, trusts,
foundations and educational bodies.

Bringing the best entertainment Public sector funders

to Blackpool
As we approach the new decade, the Grand continues to bring a ‘variety’ of
the best available productions to Blackpool, the Fylde and the North West.
This is despite the entertainment industry having some difficult economic
times. As you will see in this brochure, we have maintained a growing Other funders
relationship with number one producers such as The Bill Kenwright
organisation, UK Productions and Flying Entertainment. This season sees
a further development of Schools Alive, an amazing opportunity for schools
to experience the Grand Theatre as a performance space, and Showzam,
the half term festival of Circus, Magic and New Variety, now in its third year.

I do hope patrons will be attracted to this season’s offerings and continue to

support the theatre, as you have in the past. Supporters

dance with Bill Kenwright’s
production of Ray Davies’ award-
winning musical hit Come Dancing,
as it embarks on its UK tour.
Originally produced at Theatre Royal Stratford East,
Come Dancing was a sell-out sensation that received rave reviews
and public acclaim at every spectacular performance!

Come Dancing is written by and stars the former front man of The
Kinks, Ray Davies, who penned some of the greatest songs in pop
history.

Come Dancing takes us back to the Palais Ballrooms of the 1950s,

where thousands would dance and romance at a time when Rock ‘n’
Roll was bursting onto the scene. Featuring impressive dance
routines and a heart-warming tale of teenage romance, the story is
full of wonderful new songs in a show as timeless as its star.
