There is always some kid who may be seeing me for the first time. I owe him my best. Joe DiMaggio
In this example, the drills are designed to prepare players to drive to the basket confidently with good
dribbling skills. The first step of this move is to drive to the lane. This week of practice will have a lot
of demonstration and feedback. I recommend lots f use of exaggeration during the modeling stages,
as well as using only positive modeling. Also, use equipment to be a pretend defender on the rip
throughs- allow no defender at the bottom where they are shooting layups to help build confidence
and that the idea is to go score. With this mentality teaching the dish pass is easier. It will be a simple
and closed environment. The types of feedback in this week will be critical features first. We will do
this because it is important to nip any bad habits from forming in the butt first- focus on the big
picture and worry about the smaller things later!
