ideas. You may now seat.

D. Presentation/Discussion
“YES, IT IS”
For today’s lesson, we will talk about the basic
skills of bowling but before that let’s define
what is bowling?

Bowling is a popular sport that includes many

interesting rules, and it’s also easy for
beginners to play. You can gain various
advantages by bowling with friends or
participating in a bowling match.
“NO, IT IS”
Bowling also called tenpins, game in which a
heavy ball is rolled down a long, narrow lane
toward a group of objects known as pins, the
aim being to knock down more pins than an
opponent.
If you are bowling beginner, you should learn
some basic skills in bowling to improve your
performance. The more regularly you
practice, the more achievements you will
gain. “Yes, Ma’am it is about basic
skills in bowling.”
Do you understand what is bowling sport
now?
I love playing bowling because……….
Now let’s move on to the basic skills in
bowling.
(mendez seat)
We have 6 basic skills in bowling the first one
is the hook a bowling ball.
1. Hook A Bowling Ball. If you want to
improve your bowling skills, the first skill you
need to learn is hook bowling, as this
technique mostly differs from beginners to
skillful players. Hook bowling, also known as
curl or curve bowling, is more difficult for
amateurs to do than straight bowling.
Instead of throwing the ball in straight line,
you curve the ball so that it collides with lane.
Doing hook bowling will help you get more
strikes because the ball hits the pins with a
stronger force.

2.Bowl A Straight Ball. Straight bowling is the

most common skill most beginners use in
their bowling game. Bowling a straight ball
can help you knock down the pins, but it’s not (Yes ma’am)
as efficient as hook bowling. Straight bowling
runs down the lane directly, so the ball may
not hit all pins.

However, straight bowling will be significantly

helpful if you determine the lane and how to
throw the ball in the pockets.

Do you understand what is bowl a straight

ball class?

Very good!, let’s now proceed to Comfortable

fingertip grip.

3.Comfortable Fingertip Grip. A relaxing

fingertip grip will bring a comfortable feeling
and confident manner while throwing the
bowling ball. Follow these steps, and you will
understand how to use your fingertip grip
effectively. First, concentrate and consider
whether your grips are comfortable uplifting
the bowling ball. Remember to do a proper
ball swing. To swiftly obtain your ball and
avoid missing the pins, you should change
your middle, ring, and thumb fingers. Thus,
take your time to practice, then you’ll know
how to keep the ball fitted in your hands

Timings: Your foot should be in coordination (Yes, ma’am)

with your arms swinging and release. Once
you self-calculate the timing, you’re off to an
excellent start.

Hand position: Your hand needs to be strong

for the shot. If you plan to throw a hook shot,
you need to turn your hand and wrist in a
specific manner. Let the ball come forward
from the backswing and release the ball from
your grip in a handshake position. If you are
likely to throw a bowling ball for straight shot,
keep the hand and wrist straight as well.

Place all components such as timings,

hand position, and power together for a
precise approach. Finish your shot by
throwing the ball as it passes your ankles.
Either work with a palm-up position or a
handshake one depending on your
approach.
Take note class, bowling is a game about
strength, speed, and angles. Find the
correct combination for all three, and you
will have exactly what it takes to strike.

Are we clear class?

Again, class what are we going to take note

of?

“okay, very good!”

let’s continue our discussion. The fourth one

is the cranker.
4.Cranker. To do bowling cranks, you need to
generate maximum power while bowling.
Cranking the ball is one of the best ways to
bring down the pins if you do it precisely;
otherwise, you’ll be unable to control the ball.
When your ball loses its direction because of
the sharp hooking movement, it generates
terrible throws.

Class watch the video about the Cranker style

bowling

speed, and angles.

what do you observe class about the example

cranker style in bowling?

Yes, andoy? Very good andoy.

Cranker style of bowling is a very powerful
style. The bowler imparts a lot of revolutions
on the ball and a lot of speed, and therefore a
lot of hook. When the bowler throws the ball,
he will come around the ball with his fingers
and that imparts the revolutions on it. He also
rotates his positive axis point more so it's
facing him, meaning that the revolutions he
imparts on the ball are perpendicular to the
lane bed and that's what gives the ball its
hooking power.
In short, use a cupped wrist or excessive wrist
action to quickly and roughly throw the ball.
You should try to release the ball decisively to
create a strong rate of revolutions.

lot of revolutions on the ball and a lot
of speed, and therefore a lot of hook.
Perhaps you don’t know; your probability of
knocking down the pins depends on your
footwork. It is the core of your entire muscle
strategy. Players are often concerned that
taking a short or lengthy run will be more
effective.

It’s advisable to take a long run before you

throw the ball. A long run will increase your
stamina on the feet, accumulate the force on
your muscles, and encourage your biceps to
release the ball fully.

6.Release Time. It’s important to decide if

you’ll need a slow or quick release to get the
pins down instantly. If you set up your release
time wrongly, the chance of getting more pins
will be lower.

Before releasing the bowling ball, remember

to take a long run, then restrain your muscles
as it will give your muscles more force. After
that, you need to make an immediate hit so
that the ball can rapidly run and bring down
the pins.

Do you understand the 6 basic skills in

bowling class?

Let me see if you really listening and you

learned something today.
