Session 32

Create an inspection report

With multiple operations, it is often necessary to measure some key features before the
part is moved to the next operation. We will use VERICUT to create an inspection report.

1. Open project file vericut.vcproject


Launch VERICUT
File > Open
Shortcut = Library
File = vericut.VcProject
Display the Project Tree

2. Set VERICUT to stop at the end of the first setup


In the Project Tree, right mouse click on Setup 1 and select Motion
Stop At = End of each Setup
OK
3. Change the display to one view only

View > Layout > Standard >


In the Workpiece view, right-click Select View > V-ISO
4. Cut NC Program
Play to End

5. Select the features to inspect
Analysis > Inspection
In the Inspection panel, right-click Insert Wall Thickness Row
Click the longer vertical wall

In the Inspection panel, right-click Insert Wall Thickness Row


Click the shorter vertical wall

The dimension of the measured wall is automatically entered.
In the Inspection panel, right-click Insert Floor Thickness Row
Select the floor

For the Floor thickness, select a different instrument:


Click in the Ultrasonic to activate the pull-down menu, select Height Gage

6. Create an HTML report
In the Inspection panel, File > Create Report > HTML
Shortcut = Working Directory
File = session29.html
Save

7. Save the inspection settings and close the inspection


panel
In the Inspection panel, File > Save as
Shortcut = Working Directory
File = session29.VcInspect
Save
In the Inspection panel, File > Exit

8. Exit VERICUT
File > Exit
Ignore All Changes

Conclusion
An inspection report can be created at any stage during the machining process.
