1 Introduction/Title Slide will Hello. Welcome to the video tutorial that will
show during this time. demonstrate how to create a Google Site. Google
Sites can be used for anything; including class
pages, school pages, and student creation
activities.

2 Open Google Chrome to First you will need to sign in to Google, and then
Google you will click the grid at the top right hand corner
of your page.

3 Select Google Sites You will now see a list of Google Apps in the
drop-down screen. Click Sites.

4 Create Sites Next, you will click the red box to the right that
says Create, and then click in new Sites.

5 Enter Site Name/Page You will now need to create a unique Site Name
Title and Page Title for your website. I will name the
Site Glennville Elementary School and my Page
title will be Our Warriors.

6 Change Image You can change the image of the homepage by

selecting Change image. You will click the
image you wish to have. Personally, I like the
beach scene. Then click select to insert the
image.

7 Text Box You can now select the Text Box option on the
right to type in your text into your homepage. This
could be used to provide an introduction to the
website or information about the creator: you!

8 Images You can also click on the Images option on the

right to insert a specific image into your
homepage. You can insert a URL, search Google
for an image, use an image from your computer,
or from your drive. Lets search the word school.
You will then click your image, and click select to
insert the image onto your webpage.

9 Embed Tool The embed tool can also be used to insert a url,
document, or video from another source into your
actual web page, without having to open to
another web page.

10 Upload You can also select Upload to upload an image,

document, or video straight from your computer. I
will place this adorable image of a warrior onto
our page; I mean, we are the Tattnall County
Warriors!

11 Other Applications If you continue to scroll down, you will see several
other applications that you can use to upload into
your web page. You can select from Drive to
drag anything from your Google Drive into your
page. You can also search YouTube and all of the
other apps and embed them into your site this
way.

12 Creating Pages Next, you will need to click Pages on the top
right hand corner. You will then click the blue
paper with the plus sign to create your own page
within your web site. This is a page that is
separate than your homepage.

13 Create Page Name/Title Type in a name for this page in your site. Since I
am creating a rough version of a school page, I
will type in 1st Grade. Next, we will click done to
add our page.

14 Create subpage This next step is one of my favorite parts about

Google Sites. If you place your cursor over the
page name you just created on the right, you can
then click on the three vertical dots on the tile.
You will be given a list of options to do with this
page: Set as home page, Duplicate page,
Rename page, Create sub page, Remove page
from site, and hide from navigation. Click Create
sub page, to add another page within this section.

15 Name Subpage Type your page name for this subpage. I will
name this subpage English Language Arts. Click
done, and you will see your new subpage. If you
place your cursor on the top of your page, over
1st grade, you will now see a drop down menu of
English Language Arts. A teacher can post an
introduction to her class on the 1st Grade
section, and then provide specific details about
each content area in that particular grade.

16 Create Subpage I can place my cursor over 1st Grade on the

right, select the vertical dots again, and create a
subpage called Mathematics.

17 Themes Next, you may want to make your page a little

more appealing by adding color and themes. Click
Themes at the top right corner of the page, and
you will be given several options to choose from. I
will select Aristotle and the color blue, just to keep
it simple. You can also select your font, but again
just keep it simple. I will stay with the Modern font
for this web page.

18 Share When you are ready to share your page, you will
click the icon on the top of the screen of the man
and the plus sign. Here, you will be given a link
that you can share with anyone you wish. You
can also invite people to view or edit your site.
Please remember that if you want to allow other
people to edit the site, you will need to change
your settings from private to another option of
your choosing, using the blue change button.

19 Ending/Credits Thank you for viewing my video. I hope this was

page!
