PART I. IDENTIFICATION

Instruction: Answer the following questions with complete solution. Any form of erasures is strictly PROHIBITED. Any form of
cheating means an automatic grade of 5.00

1. Determine the deflection at point C of the beam shown in fig A.E= 200Gpa, I=250(10 6) mm4. Use Double Integration or
Moment Area method.
2. The girder in fig. B is made from a continuous beam and reinforced at its center with cover plates where it moment of inertia
is larger. The 4 end segments have a moment of inertia of I= 270(10 6) mm4, and the center portion has a moment of inertia of
I= 540(106) mm4. Determine the deflection at the center C. Take E= 200GPa. The reactions have been calculated. Use
Conjugate method
3. Determine the displacement at D of the steel beam in fig. C. Take E =200 GPa. I= 300(106)mm4. Use Energy Methods
4. In Fig. D, determine the moments at A, B and C, then draw the moments diagram for the beam. Assume the support at B is
roller and A and C are fixed. E=200GPa. Use Slope Deflection Equation method.
5. In fig. E, determine the moment at B. then draw the moment diagram for each member of the frame. Assume the support atA
is pin and C is fixed. EI is constant. Use Moment Distribution method.
