S May Street

At 04:19 Thunder Bay Fire Rescue was dispatched to a structure fire on S May Street. This fire was
discovered by Thunder Bay Police who were patrolling the area due to a suspicious vehicle fire that
was being extinguished by fire personnel. The first arriving Fire Rescue unit on May Street noticed a
small fire at the rear of the structure. A fast acting police officer discharged a fire extinguisher on the
fire while a second police officer filled a nearby garbage can with water and extinguished the
remainder of the fire. Fire personnel opened up the exterior wall of the structure to ensure that fire
had not travelled deeper into the wall .This fire was contained to a small area of the exterior with
limited damage to the building. All occupants were allowed to return to their apartments in short
order. There were no injuries involved in this fire and Thunder Bay Police are investigating the
suspicious nature of this fire.
