Summary of understanding. (If someone outside the school asked you to explain what you
learned during this unit and how it is relevant to your life, what would you say? Think about the
progression of concepts from start to finish and think about what new things you would like to
learn and why.)
Throughout the seven weeks I was able to learn about triangles, angles, and
trigonometry. For example, I am able to recognize similar triangles and prove that they
are similar. A very helpful math concept that will be able to use in the future, is
trigonometry. Trigonometry is relevant to our lives because with it I am find height of an
object when given the angle and the distance from the object. This would've been so
helpful when I was trying to solve the middle school problem which we worked on earlier
in this project. At the time, I believed that it would be impossible to solve the problem
seemed difficult . Now I understand that it was leading up to trigonometry, which
surprises me because I never would've thought of this. It encourages me to keep learning
about trigonometry because I find it enjoyable solving each problem.
I believe I deserve an A because through this whole project Ive able to challenge
myself and grow as a student. In the beginning of this project I was unable to participate
constantly but now I feel more comfortable doing so. Each week I was constantly
pushing myself to participate, I would make a table to keep myself accountable. Seeing
the table help me to participate because if I saw that I has participated once I would want
to participate more. Reflecting on this project, I am proud to have achieved my goals
because I know that I worked really hard to accomplish them. Another reason why I
deserve an A is becuase I worked really hard to understand each mathematical concept.
When I struggled with a mathematical concept I would then ask for help. Once I did ask, I
was able to understand the concept much better. I also believe that I deserve an A
because I turned in all of my assignment and put a lot of effort into them. For example, I
put a lot of effort into the P.O.Ws because I wanted to achieve as much beautiful work as
possible.
