Ive taken many basic business classes such as introduction to business management,
financial accounting, principles of marketing, contemporary economic issues, introduction to
business law, applied management skills, introduction to information systems and software
integration. Ive also taken some additional literature course and creative writing on top of the
basic English core content classes that are required. Ive consistently been on the honor roll
throughout my education, won a Gildas Club Scholarship my senior year in high school, and
the presidential, commonwealth and merit scholarships while in college.

After being promoted I learned many more technical skills that are specific to a theater. I used
various software to schedule show times, plan bookings for the shows the next week, allocate
features to the appropriate screen, enter booking information and publish it to public websites
once finalized, build movie packs and the basics of handling projectors in booth. I also learned
many more transferrable skills such as preparing cash drawers for employees, counting large
sums of money, using Excel and other Microsoft programs to make employee schedules,
delegating important tasks, trouble shooting projector errors, making a stock order, counting
inventory, ordering change money, correcting and approving payroll, organizing files and
paperwork, and dealing more directly with upset customers. On my first annual review as a
manager I received top marks to merit the full raise I could receive for the year.

My first job was working as a floor staff member for this theater after high school. I handled
money at a cash register, worked in customer service, dealt with angry customers, learned to
prioritize tasks when busy and take initiative when things need to be done, handled food and
drink, restocked merchandise, upsold and suggestive sold, worked with different team members,
and maintained a clean and safe work environment. While in this position I received an employee
of the month award multiple times and was later promoted.
