Chapter 3

METHOD

Presented in this chapter are the research design, the research subject, the

research instrument, the data gathering procedure and the statistical treatment of data.

Research Design

The descriptive correlation type of research design was applied in this study,

using the questionnaires about the level of awareness and satisfaction of the employees

of UM Tagum College to online banking transactions, distributed by the researchers to

its respondents. Data were usually collected through a series of questionnaires or

surveys.

Research Subject

The study was conducted at UM Tagum College among the employees of UM

Tagum College. Using Slovens formula and via random sampling, the researchers

picked a total of 167 respondents; composing of 45 Non-Teaching Personnel, 20 male

and 25 female, and 112 Teaching Personnel, 56 male and 66 female.

Research Instrument

The researcher-made questionnaire was the main tool in the data collection that

was needed for the study. The questionnaires were made brief and comprehensible for

the better understanding of the respondents.

The scale and descriptive equivalent was used to determine the level of

awareness of the employees. The parameter and scaling used in the study were as

follows:

Range Level Description

4.3-5.0 Very High The customers are very

much aware.

The customers are

3.5-4.2 High
much aware.

The customers are

2.7-3.4 Average
aware.

The customers are not

1.9-2.6 Low so aware.

The customers are not

1.0-1.8 Very Low aware at all.

The scale and descriptive equivalent was also used to determine the level of

satisfaction of the employees. The parameter and scaling used in this study were as

follows:

Range Level Description

4.3-5.0 Very High The customers are very

much satisfied.

The customers are

3.5-4.2 High
much satisfied.

The customers are

2.7-3.4 Average
satisfied.

The customers are not

1.9-2.6 Low so satisfied.

The customers are not

1.0-1.8 Very Low satisfied at all.

Data Gathering Procedure

For the accomplishment of the study, the questionnaires were made by the

researchers to collect important data. It was then given to the panel members to check

and be verified. After the panel members verification, the researchers then asked

permission at the Deans Office to conduct the study. The Dean then allowed the

researchers to conduct the study. The questionnaires were answered by the

respondents of the study and were retrieved by the researchers. The data were then

forwarded to the statistician for proper statistical treatment.

Statistical Treatment of the Data

The data gathered in this study was tallied, tabulated, and subjected to the

following tools:

Weighted Average Mean. To determine the level of awareness and satisfaction of the

respondents on online banking transactions.

ANOVA. To determine the significant difference of level of satisfaction according to age.

T-test. To determine the significant difference of level of satisfaction according to

gender.

Pearson r. To determine the significant relationship between the level of awareness and

satisfaction on online banking transactions.
