You are going to see images of five cities and their landmarks. Write a
paragraph describing each city and country it belongs and the landmark shown.
Use the vocabulary from the box for the descriptions. The first one is done for

IBAGUE TOLIMA-DULIMA MOUNTAIN
Ibague is a Colombian
municipality located in the
center-west of Colombia, on the
Central Cordillera of the Andes
between the Combeima Canyon
and the Magdalena Valley, near
the Nevado del Tolima.
Dulima mountain
The Nevado del Tolima (also
known as the Dulima mountain
since before the conquest by the
indigenous natives) is a volcano
located in the Central Cordillera
of the Andes of Colombia, in the
jurisdiction of the Tolima
municipalities of Anzotegui and
Ibagu.
 The Cacica Dulima was a pijao
indigenous, the Spaniards
thought that she was the
guardian of a great treasure,
reason why they accused her of
witchcraft so that it was
executed and thus rob it. Andrs
Lpez de Galarza acceded to
such condemnation and
attacked the temple of Dulima
decapitating the guardians and
after a false judgment they
condemned it to the flames like a
witch. After his death the
Spaniards discovered that the
only treasure of which the cacica
was guardian was the freedom
of the pijao people.
MONUMENT TO LA CACICA DULIMA
The most recognized cultural
events of Ibagu is its Folk
Festival which takes place every
year, in June, on the eve of the
celebrations of San Juan and
San Pedro. At this time, the city
dresses up as a party, squares
and parks become the best
musical stages where people
dance to traditional Andean
rhythms: sanjuaneros,
bambucos and corridors.

 Municipality located on the
banks of the Magdalena River
132 km from Ibagu. This city
preserves colonial architecture
and is the fluvial axis of the
Department of Tolima, where the
sub-season on the Magdalena
River attracts hundreds of
fishermen.
