Transmission lines enable efficient and

Transmission assets are a vital part of

covers the entire value chain from
design and engineering, supply of
equipment, construction and
commissioning, to operation and
maintenance.
These capabilities allow it to transport
energy, not only to large cities and
industrial hubs, but also to remote
locations and under extreme conditions.
Some examples are the construction of
the largest direct current transmission
line in Brazil, spanning 2,350 km, or the
construction of a 500 kV transmission
line spanning 872 km in Peru, that
reaches a height of 3,000 m above
sea level.

Currents and voltages
Depending on the needs of each
environment, Abengoa is able to offer
the best technical solution:
Alternating current (AC) lines: lower
investment and greater ease in
controlling the network.
Direct current (DC) lines: highly
suitable for long distances, due to
lower losses.
Underground lines: up to 400 kV.
As regards voltage levels, Abengoa has
capabilities over the entire range, from
low voltage lines (less than 1 kV) to
high and very high voltage (400 to
800 kV).
