Participants: - Ms. Nhung, Mr. Quyet, Mr. Minh - Ms. Sim. Ms. Ha Memo taken by Ms. Sim Main points: - Make a checking book Bang theo doi of every lesson, including the following criteria: Attendance, activeness, Grammar, HW completed, and 4 main skills (Speaking, Lis., Reading, Writing). Consider how to evaluate speaking skill (e.g. pronunciation, stress, reaction). - At the end of a lesson, there should be a review, i.e. on grammar or vocabs. We can make it more challenging with some kinds of reaction games around 5 mins. - There are 2 tests for each course. A test should last 1 hour, then the remaining time, 30 mins, is for checking the test. The test should include all 4 skills to be the most efficient, i.e. 45 mins on written test, 5 mins on Listening and 10 more on Speaking. We can check students speaking skill in pairs or in groups. - All completed test papers need to be kept at the center to make a portfolio for each student and will be returned to parents at the end of the course. - HW for students should be made more challenging, i.e. on writing, making presentations, video, etc. - We dont need to follow exactly the text books. Some parts or even unit can be skipped. We can flexibly adjust the lesson. Just keep in mind to pursue the target of advancing students skills, esp. speaking and listening. Activities should be more appealing and get students more involved. - For speaking skill, students can be assigned to make a presentation and/ or do role-play with a short video, i.e. 5 mins. Also, we can show them some short clips (5 mins) in the lesson. - Every plan on club should be made 1 week in advance for all to be prepared and ready with it. - Camping plans need to be done 1 month in advance. The next camping trip is on March 10th Lunar year? (plz check the time, I forgot to take note, sorry) - At the beginning of each course, parents will receive a welcome letter, which includes the course info, and phone numbers of teaching assistants.
