Should student wear school uniform to school ?

Uniforms are seen almost anywhere in the world and are worn for many
different reasons that could range from going to a reunion to going to work. People
usually think of suits, tuxedos, or something a grown up would wear when "uniform"
is said. Ditching school uniforms would not only cost parents money, and is a bad
idea all around. In fact, school uniforms are as important as student laptops in the
education experience. What excites children going to school for the first time is
usually their uniforms. Every five-year-old can appreciate wearing a school uniform
as a powerful rite of passage, and an equally powerful statement of
belonging.Students should wear school uniforms to avoid getting bullied, to ensure
the students are more discipline and to create a oneness and belonging.

Requiring school uniforms reduces the chances of bullying. Bullies pick on

students based on what they wear. What happens when they are wearing the same
thing ? Every student who is dressed the same, is less likely to get bullied . Bullies
wont have the need to bully someone as much as he/she would if uniforms were
required, because every student looks the same.Uniforms provide a more bully-free
environment for the students.

Furthermore, by wearing uniforms, it improves discipline and leads to academic

gains. For example, in 2001, The Bossier Parish School Board in Louisiana enacted
an uniform policy in order to increase test scores and reduce disciplinary problems. It
is stated that half of schools around the country have dress code policies. A dress code
identifies what clothes cannot be worn to school. A school uniform policy defines
what clothes must be worn to school. Dress code limit options while school uniforms
define clothing options.
Besides that, by wearing school uniform student creates a sense of belonging,
equality and unity. As a student that has to wear a uniform, I do have to say that
uniforms create a sense of belonging. No kid likes to feel like an outsider because
they dont have the right clothing. Wearing a uniform creates a badge of pride for
students. These uniform create a sense of pride, as being able to belong somewhere.

In my opinion, I totally agree that students should wear uniform to school. This is

because there is more positive statement compared to negative statement.Wearing
school uniform makes student proud to be part of their school because it curbs
alienation, helps to form/school unity and differentiates between the students and
teachers. It helps to give children the structure they need, whilst not removing any
creativity from them.
