Save Horamavu Agara Lake Walkathon

02nd April, 2017

Once known as the City of Lakes, Bengaluru is on a rapid urbanization curve. The serious repercussions of
which is also visible in the form of deteriorating and polluted lakes, threatening our ecosystem. Today, as a result
of the explosive expansion, many lakes in our city have been encroached or turned into a waste dumping site.
Lakes have been fed with sewage and industrial effluents, adversely affecting the biodiversity and environment.

The residents of Horamavu Agara have come together to salvage one such lake in the neighbourhood. In an attempt
to seek immediate intervention by responsible civic bodies for the rejuvenation, maintenance and upkeep of the
Horamavu Agara Kere, Horamavu, a walkathon has been organized on Sunday, the 2nd of April, 2017. The Save
Horamavu Agara Lake Walkathon event will be flagged off by honourable area MLA, Shri. Byrathi Basavaraj
in the presence of distinguished BBMP officials, Local Leaders and residents.

We wish to spread this message and be the motivation for several other residential associations and local bodies
to take up this cause and prevent the remaining lakes from a slow and painful death.

Being a prominent media entity in Bangalore city, it will give this movement a tremendous voice if you join
hands and walk with us.
