Course Algebra II and Honors Algebra II
Course Algebra II and Honors Algebra II
Mr. Ren
This course is designed to build on algebraic and geometric concepts. It develops advanced algebra skills
such as systems of equations, advanced polynomials, imaginary and complex numbers, quadratics, and
concepts and includes the study of trigonometric functions. It also introduces matrices and their
properties. The content of this course are important for students success on both the ACT and college
mathematics entrance exams. Students who complete Algebra II should take Statistics or Pre-Calculus
next.
Honors Mathematics courses are intended to be more challenging than standard courses and provide
multiple opportunities for students to take greater responsibility for their learning. Honors Mathematics
courses should be distinguished by a difference in the quality of the work expected rather than merely the
quantity of the work required.
The Honors Algebra II course continues the students study of advanced algebraic concepts including
functions, polynomials, matrices, systems of functions, inequalities, and rational expressions. Students
will be expected to describe and translate among graphic, algebraic, numeric, tabular, and verbal
representations of relations and use those representations solve problems. The content of this course are
important for students success on both the ACT and college mathematics entrance exams. Students who
complete Algebra II should take Pre-Calculus next.

Respect others and property. Students dont have the right to interfere with class learning.
Be on time, in your seat and have all materials ready before the bell rings
Leave cell phones and music players off and out of sight. If I find them in the classroom, the devices
will belong to the teacher and parents will have to pick them up.
There will be no food or drink allowed. I will allow water bottles in the classroom. However, if this
privilege is abused, then it will be taken away.
Please see the teacher to make-up/late work. Missing/late work will be handled on a case-by-case basis,
points may be deducted. Missing/late work is a behavioral issue and should also affect the citizenship
grade.
