Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2017 2018 school year! My name is Ms. Clifford and I will be your childs 6th
grade mathematics teacher this year at Athlos Premier. I am a graduate of the University of
Minnesota in Minneapolis, and am excited to get to know your child over the course of the school
year. I have been working with students and families in schools for 5 years since finishing college.

In my math class, we will learn about ratios, fractions,
statistics, and probability. Students will complete a
understanding of all topics. Assignments may include
mathematical concepts, reflections, or other projects
developing skills that will not only help them succeed

I will assign homework every week. On Fridays and over the weekend, students will be able to work
on upcoming assignments or prepare for the next unit of study. I will post the weeks homework on
the board in my classroom, and students are expected to copy the homework assignments into their
notebook. Students should expect to spend approximately 30 minutes on the weeks homework for
my class. I appreciate your assistance in advance in encouraging your student to build good study
habits. We are all on the same team, because we all want to support your student.

In my classroom, there are three main expectations I have for students: 1) being a classroom leader;
2) paying attention and expressing respect for others; and 3) ending class appropriately. I believe all
students can be leaders and expect them to behave as such. Part of being a leader is showing respect
for self and others, including the teacher, and paying attention when required. Lastly, although the
bell may ring, students are not dismissed from my class until I release them.

Hola Padres y Guardianes,

Bienvenidos al ao de la escuela 2017 2018! Me llamo Seorita Clifford y soy la maestra de

matemticas para su hijo/a de sexto grado en Athlos Premier. Yo gradu de la Universidad de
Minnesota en Minepolis, y estoy emocionada a conocer a su hjo/a este ao de la escuela. Yo he
estado trabajando con estudiantes y familias en las escuelas por cinco aos desde que yo termin mis
estudios en la universidad.

En mi clase de matemticas, aprendermos sobre proporciones, fracciones, expresiones, ecuaciones,

el sistema de los nmeros, estadstica, y la probabilidad. Los estudiantes completarn una variedad
de tipos de tarea para tener una comprensin fuerte de todos los tpicos. La tarea posiblemente
podra incluir problemas matemticos, la aplicacin de los conceptos matemticos al mundo rel,
reflexiones, o otros proyectos que yo decida. Yo apoyar a su hijo/a para desarollar las habilidades
que van a asistirlos a tener xito en el sexto grado y en los exmenes estandarizados del estado, y
tambin tener xito en su vida.

Yo dar tarea cada semana. El viernes y por el fin de la semana, los estudiantes pueden trabajar en
alguna tarea del futuro o preparar para nuestro tpico proximo en la clase. Voy a escribir la tarea
para la semana en la pizarra de la aula, y la expectativa es que los estudiantes escriban la tarea en sus
cuadernos. La otra expectativa es que los estudiantes pasen 30 minutos en su tarea de mi clase.
Gracias por su apoyo en alentar su hijo/a a establecer habilidades buenas para estudiar. Estmos en
el mismo equipo, porque queremos apoyar a su estudiante.

En mi aula, hay tres expectativas que tengo para mis estudiantes: 1) s un lider de la clase; 2) paga
atencin y expresa respecto para los otros estudiantes; y 3) termina la clase apropriadamente. Yo
creo que todos estudiantes son lderes y yo tengo expectativas para ellos compartense por lo tanto.
Finalmente, aunque el timbre sona, los estudiantes no podran salir de mi aula hasta el momento
cuando yo lo diga.
