As an example, the configuration of a high-speed train, Thalys AVE, is shown in Figure 3. It


can be seen that the axle spacing is typically 3 m and that the axle loads are about 15 tons - 17
tons (150 kN to 170 kN).

2. Budget considerations
The budget for the suggested solution depends on the following:
1. Construction of track structure
2. The railway sleepers.
3. At least one hydraulic actuator to be purchased.
4. Sensors, data acquisition system to be purchased.
5. Reserving area for testing time.
6. Workmanship for setting up of test facility and during testing.
