 About Nuevo Espaol en Marcha
NUEVO ESPAOL EN MARCHA is a four-level Spanish course
which covers the contents of levels A1, A2, B1 and B2 of the
Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. There is
also an edition with levels A1 and A2 in a single volume,
entitled Nuevo Espaol en marcha Bsico. After completing this
first volume, students will be capable of basic but correct
communication in the past (pretrito indefinido), present and
future (voy a + infinitive) and will know approximately 1,000
basic words. They will also be able to give basic information
about themselves and others and function in a variety of

practical situations.

En espaol podemos hablar en estilo formal o informal. En estilo
formal usamos usted (Ud.) y ustedes (Uds.) para hablar con perso-
nas desconocidas, de mayor edad o superiores en el trabajo: un
jefe, un profesor, un mdico. Tambin en estilo formal utilizamos
las frmulas seor (Sr.) y seora (Sra.) con el apellido: Sr. Prez.
En estilo informal usamos el nombre, y es muy habitual decir hola!
para saludar y hasta luego!, para despedirse; pero tambin deci-
mos adis!, hasta maana! o hasta pronto!
En estilo formal e informal es normal saludar tambin con buenos
das!, por la maana; buenas tardes!, por la tarde; y buenas no-
ches!, por la noche.
