PET Speaking Test

Part 3 the photo


Here is some useful language to help you with this part of the test.

In this photo I can see .

The people:

Two people / three people / a man and a woman / a mother and her daughter

The setting:
They are at home / in a sitting room / in a kitchen /in the countryside/in the street

The actions: (present continuous)


They are talking / the woman is looking at the little girl and smiling

Speculate:
I think they are father and daughter. /They are probably a group of friends
/they might be talking about their next holiday.

Describe appearance:

Hes got short brown hair.

They look + adjective (they look happy)

She looks like + noun phrase (she looks like a teacher) He looks as if + verb phrase (he

looks as if he is writing)

Their clothes:
He is wearing pants/short/shirt/tie/jacket/boots/coat/shoes
she is wearing dress/vest/skirt/blouse/gloves/purse/hat/swimsuit/

The season:
It is probably summer because the sky is very blue.

In the background I can see .


Spring (spring) - Primavera.
Summer (sommer) - Verano.
Fall (fol) - Otoo.
Winter (winter) - Invierno

Check that you remember this vocabulary:

Furniture (table, armchair, carpet, cupboard, wardrobe etc) Countryside (river, field, hill,

bridge etc)

If you dont know a word DONT use the Italian word try to paraphrase. Eg

I can see a ., I dont know the name in English but its a thing which you
use to cook food.
