AIMS OF THE LESSON:

assimilate new grammatical rules
help students improve their grammar using different types of exercises
improve pupils pronunciation and their ability of speaking in English
freely

PUPILS PROBLEMS:
pupils may not be familiar with certain words

STAGE ACTIVITIES TIMING

Teacher salutes the pupils and asks them how

1. LEAD - IN they are feeling. She checks absents and 5min
whether they had homework or not.
 Pupils are introduced to the topic of the new
lesson. Teacher writes the title of the lesson
2. COMPREHENSION
on the blackboard and presents the main 5min
TASK activities of the lesson, i.e. discussing some
grammar issues.
The teacher asks the pupils to read from the
3. GRAMMAR book several lines about pets and what
a. Presentation keeping one of them implies. In these
sentences they will find sentences containing 15min
must/mustnt. The teacher will give them the
correct pronunciation and translation for this
form.

She will have then, several pupils to build up

b. Practice some sentences of their own with 10min
must/mustnt.

The teacher asks the pupils some questions

c. Production whose answer will have to be formulated in 5min
the same way, i.e. using must.

The pupils are asked to choose a pet they like

4. FEED - BACK and then to write several rules about keeping 10min
an animal in your house.
