Summary of Activities:
On the 1st week of my duty, I feel nervous and excited at the same time and I am not comfortable with
the people and the environment around me. The people looks so terror and strict when it comes to the
rules and regulation of the hotel. On our first day we are expecting that we will be assigned directly at the
rooms but unfortunately we are assigned at the laundry area. On the 2nd week I am assigned at the Tower
2 which is the Chalet, at first I really dont know what to do, on how to set-up and how to beddings the
check out rooms but with the help of Sir Robert which is a room attendant I knew it step by step.

Work/ Duty Challenges:


I dont how to fold the linens and I dont know what are the kinds of linens.

How you were able to overcome it?


With the help of the staffs I know how to deal with it.

Summary of Activities:
On the 3rd week I was assigned in the Tower 1, I was so impressed with the rooms and the ameneties, the
beds was so big and the ambiance is really good. Everyday routine in the Tower 1 is kinda tiring,which I
shined up the wall, vacuuming the carpet, set-up the rooms that check out immediately, segregate the
garbage and change the beddings. And I can say that I have lots of improvement in my work. On the 4th
week I was assigned in the ecotel, It was nice because it has a cheaper price compare to the Tower 1and
the Chalet, the rooms are small but I love to be assigned in this building because I have to clean small area
only.

Work/ Duty Challenges:


So many difficulties to work in the Tower 1 because the rooms are so big as well as the bed and so many
areas te clean up.

How you were able to overcome it?


I work fast as could as I can so that I could finish the given task on a given period of time.

Summary of Activities:
I was always assigned in this area. Early in the morning I shined up the walls and swept the hallways and
corridors. I set up rush rooms and eventually I made this on the given period of time. I shined up the walls
of every room I scrubbed rubber bath mat, I scrubbed tiles in the comfort room and I threw garbage every
afternoon.

Work/ Duty Challenges:


Im not yet done with my work but again there is another task to be given.

How you were able to overcome it?


I overcome it by being a multi-tasker.

LFisher Hotel-Bacolod

The Housekeeping Department is one of the largest areas in the hotel.


It is considered as the heart of the hotel operation. This department is responsible
to ensure the cleanliness, comfort, convenience, privacy, safety, and hygiene of
the whole hotel area. It is their responsibility to up keep the guest rooms; public
areas, such as, lobby, corridors and public toilets and linen room. I was assigned
in this department for the duration of 300-hour training. On the first week of my
duty, I feel nervous and excited at the same time and I am not comfortable with
the people and the environment around me. The people looks so terror and
strict when it comes to the rules and regulation of the hotel. On our first day we
are expecting that we will be assigned directly at the rooms but unfortunately we
are assigned at the laundry area. The first week is so struggle,we were pressure to
work hard because we are beginners and we have to impressed them. Lfisher is
divided into three buildings the Tower 1, the Chalet and Ecotel. On my second
week of training I was assigned in the Chalet, It was so tiring but it was fun
because I learned a lot of new things. On the third week I was assigned in the
Tower 1 which is I was so impressed with the rooms and the ameneties, the beds
was so big and the ambiance is really good. On the fourth week I was assigned in
the ecotel, It was nice because it has a cheaper price compare to the Main and
the Chalet, the rooms are small but I love to be assigned in this building because I
have to clean small area only. The duties are rotation and at the fifth week I was
assigned again at the Chalet, the main and so on and so forth. We are not only the
ojts at the Lfisher, we have co-trainees from the University of St. La Salle. They
were so friendly and fun to be with. We have so many memories to cherish with
and I will never forget that. This practicum helps me to be a better person and
enhance my self-confidence.This practicum also widen my knowledge in the
hospitality industry. I learn also on how to handle pressure and guest complaints.
As a trainee, Lfisher Hotel thought me how to mingle and deal with the different
types of people and boost my self-esteem as an individual At the end of the
training period, I was able to experience the actual housekeeping operation in
the hotel. I learned a lot to the different working areas of the housekeeping
department like guestrooms , public areas, and the linen and laundry areas.
Lastly, we are required to perform the standard operating procedure of the hotel.
