INTRODUCTION

On the Job training is part of college curriculum that aims to train and orient the
students about the work and the future career in life. It is a type of skill development
where a worker/trainee learns on how to do work through hands-on experience. On the
job training is very important not only to teach students regarding their chosen career
but also to show students the reality about working.

Students will be trained not only academically but socially as well. The way they work
and communicate with others will not be a problem for them anymore. It also give the
trainee a chance to immerce herself/himself in chosen field and experience and learn
the skills necessary to the industry he/she interested in. Working with experience staff,
one will be able to observe how the job is done properly.

On the job training requires effort and seriousness. A trainee should take as seriously
as it can be powerful tool for a person in preparing for the next chapter of life as a
professional. Employee can use the internship strategy as a method in recruiting
employee since the trainee of the supervisor can follow the trainee program. He/she can
gauge the performance behaviour and attitude of the trainee and can recruit after the
completion of his/her internship.

TREASURE ISLAND HOTEL AND RESTAURANT firmly believes that full satisfaction of
customers can be attained through our active participation in providing quality service.
Our success depends on our commitment, competence and dedication towards our
duties and responsibilities.
 

TREASURE ISLAND HOTEL AND RESTAURANT operate almost 4 years now,


Treasure island hotel is a luxurious property set in a prime location in the center of
Masbate city. Local tourist attractions such as beaches, Museums and parks are not far
from the hotel Each of our 28 rooms with their simple, fresh and warm style, and
welcoming colors meet current city design and comfort standards.Treasure Island
derived from the word itself Treasure it means that if your going to stay or have some
special event with your family you will treasure the memories. Treasure island is own by
the family of Mr. And Mrs. Clores, Treasure Island aims to provide the service without
spending too much. It is our way of making valued guest feel comfortable and have
“homey” feeling even if they are here on a business trip or just on a long vacation to
unwind the stress of life.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE

The food and beverage service department is an integral place in any hotel which
is responsible for the systematic and the actual service of food and beverage to the
general public or customer as per the order in any F & B outlets. This department plays
a vital; role on the delivering the accurate service of food and beverage by placing the
orders from the hot or cold plates of kitchen to the customers table in the proper and the
hospitality manner.

As a trainee i must be learned to do the task as my training as a OJT:

 Welcome and Greet the guest


 Promotes positive customer relations by providing prompt, courteous and
efficient services to all patrons and guests
 Presents menu, answers questions and makes suggestions regarding food and
specialties
 Prepares food items according to menu specifications
 Ensures readiness of all meals for servers with high attention to detail
 Observes guests to respond to any additional request and to determine when
meal has been completed
 Clears and resets tables at conclusion of each course
 Cleans and maintain all dishes, glasses/mugs, cutlery and cooking equipment for
the restaurant, lounge and banquet
ANALYSIS

AREAS CONCERN

The Treasure Island Hotel and Restaurant is the workplace where i learned a lot
things especially what the real world was in my chosen vocation. The staff of their Hotel
was Friendly also the owner of the establishment so kind and polite.

There swimming pool was not really wide and the water can irritate the eyes of
the guest because it is not being change regularly. It cannot accommodate more guests
who would want to swim in the pool.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

On the job training I learned more based on hands-on experience, training it is


and actual working that would be trained myself as an employee. This training I really
experience those circumstances that bring me in reality to work in my chosen career.
The training enriched my confidence created a foundation of being a good employee
someday, and the training made me realized that it is really goods to know what you`re
doing and to love it. As a trainee I can apply the knowledge and lessons I`ve thought
during my formal education and discover that there are still lot things to learn from the
actual working field.

During my ojt I observed those things to be improved and develop. I


recommended to the employee of the that hotel they should know the limitation of their
ojt because base on my experience on my duty they are relying their task to do the ojt
so that they must know that we are the OJT only we cannot do their task perfectly
because we are on under of observation and to be trained more. To the hotel also, there
are mre things need to be improved their establishment.
