DEDICATION

Working in the real world is an eye-opening experience for anyone, and my work
immersion was no exception. As I embarked on this journey, I was filled with both
nervousness and excitement, curious to discover what lay ahead. However, looking back, I
am grateful for the opportunities and lessons that I have been given during my work
immersion. I would like to dedicate this essay to the people who have been a significant part
of my work immersion experience: my father, mother, immersion adviser, classmates, and
siblings.

First and foremost, I would like to thank my parents for supporting me throughout this entire
journey. I remember how they were with me every step of the way, from helping me prepare
for the interview to dropping me off at my workplace. They have been my pillars of strength
and guidance, always encouraging me to do my best. During my work immersion, I learned
the value of hard work, dedication, and perseverance – values that I first witnessed in my
parents. They have instilled in me the importance of being responsible and professional in the
workplace, and I am grateful for their unwavering support and love. I would also like to
express my gratitude to my immersion adviser for her guidance and encouragement. She was
my constant source of motivation, always pushing me to go beyond my limits and to try new
things. Her mentorship allowed me to gain valuable skills and knowledge that I would not
have learned in the classroom. Moreover, she taught me the importance of having a positive
attitude and being open to learning and growth. Her dedication to helping me achieve my
goals made my work immersion experience fulfilling and memorable. My classmates also
deserve a special mention for making my work immersion journey enjoyable and memorable.
Together, we experienced the ups and downs of working in the real world. We faced
challenges, laughed together, and supported each other throughout the process. I am grateful
for the friendships I have made and the memories that will last a lifetime. Collaborating with
them has taught me the value of teamwork and how we can achieve more when we work
together towards a common goal.

Last but not least, I would like to dedicate this work immersion to my siblings. They have
been my constant support and source of inspiration. Even though they are younger than me,
they have always encouraged and motivated me to pursue my dreams. During my work
immersion, I often turned to them for advice, and their words of wisdom have been

2
invaluable. They have taught me to be humble, patient, and to never give up no matter how
challenging the situation may be.

given a variety of tasks to complete. These tasks mainly included cleaning, ironing,
watering plants, arranging tables and utensils, mopping the floor, and arranging the bedsheet.
Through this experience, I have not only gained practical skills, but also valuable lessons and
memories that will stay with me for a lifetime. One of my main responsibilities during my
work immersion was cleaning. This included sweeping, mopping, and dusting various areas
of the garden. At first, I found this task to be mundane and repetitive. However, as I
continued to do it every day, I began to appreciate the importance of maintaining a clean and
tidy environment. I learned about the different cleaning products and techniques required for
different surfaces, as well as the significance of attention to detail. I also developed time-
management skills as I had to ensure that the tasks were completed within a specific
schedule. Ironing was another task that I was assigned to do. I have never been a fan of
ironing, but during my work immersion, I learned to appreciate the skill and patience required
for this task. Through trial and error, I learned how to iron different types of fabrics and
clothing items. As a result, I can confidently say that I have improved my ironing abilities.
Watering the plants in the garden was something that I thoroughly enjoyed. I was taught
about the specific watering needs of different plants and how to identify when a plant needs
water. This task not only helped me to improve my knowledge about gardening, but it also
allowed me to develop a sense of responsibility towards caring for living things. Arranging
tables and utensils may sound like a simple task, but it takes precision and attention to detail
to create an aesthetically pleasing table setup. I learned about the importance of proper
placement of utensils, how to fold napkins in different styles, and how to create an appealing
centerpiece. This task helped me to understand the significance of presentation in the
hospitality industry, and I am grateful for the experience.

Overall, my work immersion at Gazebo Place Garden was an invaluable experience. Not only
did I gain practical skills, but I also learned about the importance of teamwork, time-
management, and attention to detail. This experience has given me a real taste of the
hospitality industry and has sparked an interest in pursuing a career in this field. I am grateful

Each day, I have been tasked with various responsibilities such as cleaning, ironing, watering
plants, arranging the table and utensils, mopping the floor, and arranging the bedsheets. As I
reflect on my journey from day 1 to day 10, I am amazed at how much I have learned and
grown.

On my first day, I was excited yet nervous as I stepped into Gazebo Place Garden. I was
greeted with warm smiles from the staff, and they immediately made me feel welcomed. My
first task was to clean the garden's gazebo, which proved to be quite a challenge. The gazebo
was surrounded by plants and had intricate designs, so I had to be careful not to damage
anything. It took me some time, but eventually, I managed to clean it thoroughly, and the
feeling of satisfaction was indescribable.

As the days went by, I became more comfortable with my tasks. Ironing was something I had
never done before, but the staff patiently taught me how to do it correctly. I realized that it

that requires attention to detail. Every day, I would try to arrange the table in a different way,
experimenting with different combinations of plates, glasses, and cutlery. It taught me the
value of creativity and how little details can make a big difference. Mopping the floor and

21

of surfaces, such as wood, concrete, and tiles. It was also important to carefully remove any
fallen leaves or debris to keep the garden looking neat and tidy.

LEARNING INSIGHTS

During my 10 days of work immersion at Gazebo Place Garden, I have gained a lot of
valuable learning insights. As part of my immersion, I was assigned to do various tasks such
as cleaning, ironing, watering plants, arranging the table and utensils, mopping the floor, and
arranging the bedsheet. I am grateful for this opportunity as it has allowed me to expand my
knowledge and skills in different areas.

First and foremost, this work immersion has taught me the importance of teamwork. Each
day, I worked alongside the other staff at Gazebo Place Garden to complete our tasks
efficiently. I realized that by working together and helping each other, we can accomplish
more in a shorter period of time. This experience has also shown me the value of
communication and coordination within a team in order to achieve a common goal.

Moreover, I have learned the importance of attention to detail. Cleaning, ironing, and
arranging the bedsheet may seem like simple tasks, but I have come to realize that they
require a great deal of precision and focus. I learned that even the smallest details can make a
big difference in the overall presentation and cleanliness of the place. This has instilled in me
a sense of responsibility and diligence in any task that I am given.

Aside from that, I have also gained a deeper appreciation for the hard work and dedication
put in by the staff at Gazebo Place Garden. Before this experience, I simply enjoyed the
beautiful gardens and well-maintained facilities without considering the amount of effort and
time it takes to keep them in top condition. Through my immersion, I have witnessed

23
firsthand the hard work and commitment that goes into maintaining such a place. This has
inspired me to have a greater respect for all forms of work, regardless of the field.

One of the most interesting tasks I did during my immersion was watering the plants. I have
always been fascinated by plants, but I never realized the science behind their growth and
maintenance. I learned about the different types of plants, their specific needs, and how to
properly care for them. This experience has not only enriched my knowledge about gardening
but has also sparked a newfound interest in it.
