Song Writing Cheat Sheet for Electromagnetism

Task:
- For every 2 lines of the song there is 1 learning objective provided.
- To write the song you simply research each learning objective and make two
lines that fit the music that you have chosen. The song will be even more
memorable if you can get the lines to rhyme.

Tips:
- This is just a guide. If you feel it would be better to put some information in a
different line or if you feel that you have to leave a bit of information out to
make your song better then that is ok.
- You may have chosen a tune from a song with a slightly different structure so
you may have to move the lines to different verses to make it work.
- Scientific keywords are sometimes long and hard to fit in or rhyme. Think about
what synonyms you can use instead, e.g. turn instead of rotate.

Verse 1 Electromagnets

Line 1 & 2 When a current goes through a wire, a magnetic field is produced
around the wire.
Line 3 & 4 When you coil a wire into a solenoid the magnetic field produced is
like a bar magnet
Line 5 & 6 The size of the magnetic field produced depends on the number of
coils and the size of the current.
Line 7 & 8 If you put

Chorus

The chorus should outline the uses of electromagnetism such as electric motors,
dynamos, generators and transformers.

Verse 2 Motor Effect

Line 1 & 2 If a current carrying wire is placed next to a magnet it will feel a
force.
Line 3 & 4 Flemings left hand rule.
Line 5 & 6 Describe the structure of an electric motor.
Line 7 & 8 Electric motors go faster with a bigger current, more coils of wire
and stronger magnets.

Bridge Induction

Line 1 & 2 If you move a wire in a magnetic field a current is induced.

Line 3 & 4 Describe Lenzs law.
