Homecoming Spirit Week - September 18 22

Winning may be Greek to you, but for us, its tradition!

Parade: Thursday, 9/21 begins @ 6:30
Game: Friday, 9/22 @ Brodie Field
Homecoming Dance: Saturday, 9/23 @ TCHS

Wednesday 9/20: Dapper (Fancy) or Holiday

(Dress like a million dollars: top hats, canes, white
gloves, or dress in a way that reflects your favorite
holiday: a turkey, Santa, leprechaun, cupid! You get
the idea.)

Thursday 9/21: Uniform Day or Decade Day

(Wear a school uniform or a uniform that denotes
your favorite profession: police officer, doctor, fire
fighter or make it a throwback Thursday!)

Friday 9/22: Show off your Blue Devil Spirit!

Because of Hurricane Irma, our students have missed at least

three days of classroom time. We are planning for our students
to make up one of those days to keep them from being too far
behind. Tuesday, October 10, was originally scheduled to be a
parent/teacher conference day. Instead, teachers will meet with parents
before/after normal school hours for conferences so that students can be in
school on October 10. All students and staff will still have Fall Break on October
9, but October 10 will now be a full instructional day for students.

TCHS Peer-Tutoring Program The TCHS Peer-Tutoring Program

is designed to provide tutoring opportunities for students who
are experiencing difficulties in the areas of Math, Science,
CTAE, Foreign Language and Social Studies. Peer-Tutoring
Sessions will be conducted Monday-Thursday from 3:15 PM to
3:45 PM in the Career Center in the guidance office. Please contact your
school counselor if you are interested in setting up tutoring sessions or
becoming a peer-tutor. Students requesting services would need to do so a
few days in advance due to scheduling procedures. Students providing
tutoring services will earn community service hours.

Tues, 9/19 - VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT AG MUSEUM -

Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College's Georgia Museum of
Agriculture is holding an information session about volunteer
opportunities at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 19 at the museum atrium.
"Volunteering is very flexible," said Lynn McDonald, volunteer
coordinator at the ag museum. "You might be helping out in the
Historic Village or assisting with one of our many festivals.
Whether you have two hours on a weekday or maybe even one day a month,
we can work with your schedule." McDonald said benefits for volunteers include
free admission and the ability to earn tickets for friends and family. "On a
typical day in the village, you could be sharing the beauty of the Tift House, the
wonder of the farm or the treats of the Drug Store. On other days you could be
playing games of the 1880s, treating guests to open fire cooking or sharing
customs of the past," McDonald said. "Volunteers are also needed in our
Destination Ag program which seeks to educate elementary school children
about how agriculture impacts their lives today and the future of agriculture
and natural resources. As a volunteer, you might be sharing about your
individual skills or serve as a safety monitor for free play time." Interested
volunteers may contact McDonald before the meeting dates at
lmcdonald@abac.edu or at 229-391-5223.
