OIS Noh Performance
Elementary and middle school students have been
preparing and rehearsing since the beginning of the
school year for their performance Monday October
2 at 6:30 PM in NHK Hall in Osaka. They will be
performing with the Yamamoto Noh Theatre troupe
and the Kansai Philharmonic, as part of NHK Hall’s
“East meets West” series. Noh is an ancient form of
Japanese theatre which features song, costumes,
vocalization and instrumentation. OIS students will
be playing birds from all over the world that come to
help the water fairy clean the bay and rivers of
Osaka.

Japanese-Italian Fusion
Cooking Workshop for Parents
On Monday October 16 from 3:45 PM in the Home &
Family Life Room, the head chef of the Esaka
restaurant Volare will be sharing some techniques and
ideas for SOIS parents.

His team uses veggie broth and organic vegetables, they
protect the traditional cultures and traditional way of
thinking, at the same time, we create new dishes of the
fusion between Japanese and Italian. Featured in the
workshop will be the following:

Middle school and high school students can ②pasta set
register for the 2018 All School Production (ASP),
“You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” on ③making veggie broth
Wednesday September 27 at 4:00 PM in the ④cold press juice
theatre. We are looking for people to help with
⑤genius organic farmer Hirano-san
posters, tickets, program design, props &
scenery, lighting, sound, hair, make-up and of

Ayaka Tanimoto Coming
Back to OIS
OIS graduate Ayaka Tanimoto, an opera
singer based in London, will be visiting the
OIS music department next week. She is in
Osaka for her concert Wednesday October 4
with the classical Spanish guitarist, Jose
Gallardo de Rey at Phoenix Hall.

Ayaka has both bachelor’s and master’s
degrees from the prestigious Royal College of
Music in London. Ayala has performed all over
world in a variety of singing styles. We are
fortunate for her to spend time with our
