Journal-Questionnaire
Instructional Speech
This Journal is to be submitted by email to:
rdefina@hccc.edu. Students have one week to submit.

1. What was your level of confidence compared to your previous

speech in a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest) and why?

It was a 6 since I felt a lot more nervous about teaching others about how
to make something instead of explaining about it. In addition using the
projector while trying to keep eye contact is a lot more difficult

2. In a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest), how do you think your
presentation went this time and why?

I think it was at a 5 since I wasnt very confident in my instructional

skills, and I felt that the topic wasnt as interesting as others.

3. What was the response from the audience based on the anonymous
notes that you received after your speech?

They liked the presentation however many were stating that I needed
more eye contact which I already had a feeling I did not make very much

4. After this presentation, what have you learned that will help you
improve your presentation delivery skills in the next speech?

I learned that I should be more confident because my peers really did

enjoy the presentation even though I had my doubts about it, also I
learned that I need to fix the notion of only looking towards one area of
the class

5. What do you consider, at this point of the semester, to be your

weaknesses and your strength in public speaking?

My weakness would be trying to balance out which sides to look at when

speaking publicly as well as having doubts about my presentation at
times.

6. Did you enjoy presenting your speech? Explain.

If it wasnt for having doubts about my presentation then I did

enjoy it especially when I made origami roses for the class which
took some time to make.
