Actuation-Persuasive Speech Reflection

1. This is the biggest speech you have had for the course, with a lot required elements
(citing sources, visual aids, motivated movement, in addition to all other past criteria).
What did you find most challenging about putting together this particular speech? Why?
I think that having to make a persuasive speech presents unique challenges. With other
speeches, you don’t have to worry about making a convincing argument. It’s much harder
having to produce a high-quality speech while also attempting to influence listeners of your
case.

2. What, if anything, can you take away from your brief speaking experiences in this course? Did
you gain confidence, or might you keep doing what you are doing because it’s the same now as
in the beginning? Anything more than just being glad it’s over? Other things? Please explain why
you feel as you do.

This course helped me build boldness and fortitude regarding public speaking. I learned how to refine
my speaking abilities, and that made me much more confident. I genuinely enjoyed my time in this class,
because I learned much more than I thought I would. I know that my newly acquired knowledge will
serve me greatly in my future endeavors. My new skill of public speaking is a great benefit that I’m
excited to use!
