1. A 10KVA, 2500/250V, 50Hz, Single phase transformer gave the following results: Open
circuit test: 250V, 0.8A, 50W; Short circuit test: 60V, 3A, 45W. Calculate:
(a) Constants of equivalent circuit referred to low voltage side
(b) Iron loss & full load copper loss
(c) Efficiency at half of full load at 0.8 pf lag
(d) full load voltage regulation at 0.8 pf lag.
(e) The KVA output at which maximum efficiency occurs and also the value of maximum
efficiency at 0.8 pf lag.

2. Two transformers A and B are connected in parallel to a load impedance ZL=2+ j(1.5). Their
impedances referred to secondary side are ZA=0.15+ j (0.5) and ZB=0.1+ j (0.6) . Their no
load terminal voltages are EA=2070 V and EB= 2050 V. Find the output power and pf of
two transformers and bus bar voltage.

3. A 10KVA, 2500/250V, single phase, two winding transformer is used as an auto transformer
to raise the supply voltage of 2500 V to an output voltage of 2625V. The low voltage winding of
two winding transformer consists of two equal parts of 125 each. If both parts of low voltage
winding are used, calculate:
(a) Auto transformer KVA output
(b) KVA transformed and conducted

4. Two single phase transformers A & B are operating in parallel. The leakage impedances
referred to sec side of both transformers are Zea= (0.4+j2.2) and Zeb= (0.6+j1.7) . Their no
load terminal voltages are Ea=510V and Eb=500V. The load impedance is (5+j3) . Calculate
the reactance to be connected in series with transformer B so that the load shared by each
transformer be equal.
