Side

Material : Mahogany

12 mm thick, 80 cm long, 10.5 cm wide

1. Cut into half so that the thickness is about 4 or 5 mm on each board.

2. Sand each board to reach the thickness of 2.5 mm.

3. The upper end width is 9.5 cm, the lower end width is 10 cm.

4. Cut the edge from the upper end straight to the lower end. The horizontal side with the
length of 80 cm will be attached to the top board, and the diagonal one will be attached to
the back board.

5. Measure the length from the top axis through the upper bout, waist bout, lower bout, to the
bottom axis on the inner side of the molding with a cord. Mark the waist point. Repeat this
step for the other side.
6. Put the cord on the side board, and then mark the waist point on the edge of the board. Do
this step on the other side board as well.

7. Spray some water onto the side board to make it flexible enough to bend. The bender layers
consist of stainless steel stainless steel electric heater rubber. Put the board in between
the two stainless steel layers, clamp it with some binder clips, and then turn on the heater.
But dont bend the board yet. Leave it for 10 minutes and let the heat goes through the
entire board and make it easy to bend. When the board is wet and warm, it wont break
when bent.
8. The waist point must be seen through the gap so that the waist bout will be exactly where it
should be. Once it is pressed properly, the heater can be turned off. Let it press for 1 hour.

This is how it looks after the bending.
