Janielsons sketch
Odilons sketch
2 Write a short paragraph about the facts of your life.
Janielson I was born in Arapiraca on 04 November 1993, the youngest of two
children. When I was seven my family moved to Feira Grande, where I grew up and
went to school. I left school when I was seventeen and I started to work at a
supermarket. I still live in Feira Grande, where I found my girlfriend and work as an
English teacher.
Odilon I was born in Aracaju on 27 November 1994, the youngest of two children.
When I was 5 I moved to a city called Palestina, in the countryside of Alagoas. After
seven years I moved again, this time to Arapiraca. When I was fifteen, I started studying
in a different city, so I had to take a bus every day. I graduated from school in 2015 and
in the same year I get in to college, there I met my best friends. Now I teach English.
3 What do the word light and dark make you think of? How do these words
make you feel?
LIGHT DARK
The light words are connected The dark words are related to the bad
with the good moments of the moments, moments of sadness and pain.
authors life.
They make me feel really distressed,
At the begin, they make me feel because I can feel the pain the author
relaxed, because the words are has suffered in his life, and its really
happy words, and they show us sad.
good moments of his life, and it
made me remember of good
moments of my own life.
It gives the word dark a more significant role in the history. When my silent
terror cried and the chilly sun saw me walk away alone are examples of
personification.
b) the chilly sun (line 22). How can a sun be chilly? This is a paradox (words
that do not seem to make sense because they contain two ideas that are
opposite to each other). What is the effect of describing the sun in this way?
Can you find any other examples of paradox in the poem?
Its like his life wasnt making any sense, the things he needed wasnt there, he
needed the sun to make him war, but the sun was chilly. The lamp was dark is
another example of paradox.
5 After reading the facts about Louis MacNeices life:
Does this information change how you understand the poem Autobiography?
In what way?
Do you like the poem? Why?
A little bit, but most part is still the same to me. Reading the poem, I felt that he talks
about a big change in his life and that he had a big lost.
Yes, the poem is great, it makes you curious about its real meaning, and also it was
really unusual to me seeing an autobiography in the format of a poem.
Autobiography (Janielson)
When he/she woke up he/she spoke for my mother and her to your love I calmed.
And I feel like the old me, as happy as I was back then.
