POST-SECONDARY CAMPUS TOUR

1. Name of Campus? University of British Columbia

2. What is unique about this campus? It is the most diverse university in Canada, and other

than in Japan, they have the most authentic Japanese botanical gardens.

3. What kinds of programs are offered? There are so many program options, such as:

Physics, Health Sciences, Education, Creative Arts, and numerous more.

4. What is the application deadline? December/January

5. How do I check my application status? Online at UBCs website, you must create an

account when applying and after you can view your application status.

6. After I have been accepted, how do I register? You register for your courses online in

June.

7. How do I know what classes to register for? When you are applying for courses, you can

use the degree planning charts or talk to a Faculty Advisor if you arent finding what you

need online at the student service center.

8. What is the average class size? Class sizes differ for each program, there can be classes

of less than one-hundred, varying to over three-hundred.

9. How do you provide academic advice to students? As a student you can get advice form

an Academic or Faculty Advisor.

10. Where are the best places to study on campus? The best place to study can be different

for everyone, but there are thirteen libraries across campus. In addition, the nest can be

used for studying.

11. Does the campus offer residence? Yes, there are 13 residences across the campus
12. How can I get involved with athletics or clubs and societies? You can join clubs online

at the UBC student society website or on Club Days, an event where all the clubs set up

booths in The Nest, you can sign up there.

13. What surprised you about the campus? How large the campus is and how it really is a

city, with a hospital and multiple places to eat.

14. What did you like about the campus? How large it is, and its a really beautiful campus

with such an interesting history.

15. What did you not like about the campus? How long it might take to walk from class to

class.

16. How long was the tour? An hour

17. Would you apply to this campus? Absolutely, I loved UBC
