POST-SECONDARY CAMPUS TOUR

1. Name of Campus? Kwantlen Polytechnic University (Surrey Campus)

2. Why would you choose this campus? I would choose this campus because it is a
good transition school between high school and going to post secondary
because its class rooms and class sizes are small along with the size of the
campus.

3. What is unique about this campus? This surrey campus is the largest campus out
of all the other campuses which include KPU Richmond, KPU Tech, KPU
Langley and KPU Civic Plaza, which is opening in 2018. Also, KPU is Canada's
only polytechnic university.

4. What kind of programs are offered? KPU has 7 faculties and over 120 programs.
Some of these programs include journalism, criminology, anthropology, political
sciences, accounting, economics, product design, nursing, health science,
plumbing, welding, and much more.

5. What is the application deadline? The application deadline is March 1st 2018 and
applications open November 1st 2017.

6. How do I check my application status? You can check your application status at
www.kpu.ca/oss.

7. After I have been accepted, how do I register? You can register by logging into
your account online after you have been accepted.

8. How do I know what classes to register for? After logging into your account on
the KPU website they will guide you to a different page. This page will allow you
to see a list of courses that show you the courses you are required to take based
on your faculty.

9. What is the average class size? The average class size at KPU is 28-35
students, although the maximum number of students in a classroom cannot
exceed 35 students.

10. How do you provide academic advice to students? KPU has counselors that
specifically deal with helping students pick their classes.

11. Where are the best places to study on campus? The best place to study on
campus is the library. This is because the library has three floors, and each of
them are represented by a color. The first floor is the green zone, where you can
talk as loud as you want to, and it is mostly for working on group projects. The
second floor is the yellow zone, it should be quiet but you can still talk, and it is
for people who do not mind a little noise or working with other people. The third
floor is the red zone, it should be completely silent, and it is for students who do
not want any noise and want to work on their own in complete silence.

12. Does the campus offer residence? No, this campus does not offer residence.
There are going to be 5 campuses in total so students should pick a school that
is convenient for them according to where they might live.

13. How can I get involved with athletics or clubs and societies? By signing up and
talking to people who are in charge of these clubs and athletics to get more
information.

14. How long was the tour? The tour was about 45 minutes.

15. What surprised you about campus? What surprised me was that there was a
shuttle that could transport you to the other KPU campuses.

16. What did you like about the campus? I liked how the class sizes were small so it
would give students a chance to interact with the other students and their
teachers. I also liked how KPU organized the library in terms of the floors you
could study on.

17. What did you not like about the campus? I did not like how small the hall ways
were because with large numbers of people, it would be hard to get around.

18. Would you apply to this Campus? Yes I would consider applying to this campus
because it seems like a good option if you like to be more interactive in class,
which I do.
