1. Meetings and Forum location

The TTF annual meeting and the Policy Dialogue Forum will be held at Eda-Oba Hotel. This hotel is
selected by the host country and UNESCO as the venue to stay for all international participants.

2. Banking and money services

The local currency in Togo is the CFA franc (XOF). Other currencies can be used: the euro, the US dollar
and the Canadian dollar. The common exchange rate is 1 EUR = 655,957 CFAF.

Money can be exchanged at the banks and at legally authorized stores in the country. Banks are open
from 8:00 am to 04:00 pm on Monday to Friday. There are also 24-hour automated teller machines.

3. Hotel accommodation

All participants are encouraged to stay at Eda-Oba Hotel as per the agreement between the hotel and
the organizers in order to facilitate the various logistical supports to be provided by the host organizers.
Participants should not make their hotel reservation on their own. The hotel has already set rooms aside
for participants.

The Teacher Task Force Secretariat will share with the hotel management services the list of participants,
based on the online registration forms received:

Upon arrival, participants are asked to confirm that their name is on the list and to arrange for their hotel
room payment. The negotiated room rate for all participants is 83 USD, plus 1.70 USD for tax, per night.

Sponsored participants will receive the details on the payment of their UNESCO Daily Subsistence
Allowance (DSA) (accommodation, per-diem and other qualified expenses) once they have submitted
their online registration form.

4. Airport-hotel-airport transfer

All international participants are expected to arrive at Gnassingbe Eyadema International Airport, Lom,
Togo. Participants will be provided with a complimentary shuttle service between the airport and the Eda
Oba Hotel.

At the airport, staff from the host organizing team will welcome participants with a visible sign: UNESCO
Teacher Task Force Conference, after the immigration desk and baggage claim. The team will guide
participants to the shuttle service desk. All participants are encouraged to take advantage of this
exclusive service for their convenience and security. If you have a difficulty to find the welcome desk,
please contact the following host organizing team member:

Participants will be provided with a complimentary shuttle service between the hotel and the different
venues night market and other shopping centers and back to the hotel. The shuttle buses will leave
from the hotel every one hour from 6 pm to 9 pm.

5. Information desk and security

An information desk will be set up at the lobby of Hotel Eda-Oba during the meetings. Participants are
invited to refer to staff at the desk as necessary.

Lom is considered a safe city for visitors from all over the world. However, participants are advised to
be careful at all time. For any private or individual activities, you may want to undertake, especially
outside the premises of the meetings (sightseeing, shopping, etc.), please check with the information
desk for guidance and advice.

6. Visa and health formalities (**Important **)

A visa is required for all travellers, with the following exceptions:


travellers from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS),
all NANSEN passport holders (officially stateless persons), and
some countries (e.g. South Africa and Romania).

For travelers of non-ECOWAS states, entry into Togo requires a passport still valid for more than 6
months and a visa in the consular or diplomatic representation mandated by Togo. Visas can be issued
on the territory by the immigration authorities at the border posts and at Gnassingb Eyadma
International Airport for a maximum duration of 7 days. Upon arrival, for longer stays, the visa can be
extended for up to one month with the Foreigners and Passport Service located in B-Klikanm district

of GTA-C2A building in Lom, on presentation of proof of stay, 4 identity cards and, where applicable,
the payment of a fee of 10,000 CFA Francs or 15 euros.

Vaccination against yellow fever is compulsory for all travelers traveling to Togo. The international
vaccination booklet is requested from every traveler when arriving at the airport. It is recommended to
be vaccinated against Hepatitis B, meningitis and typhoid due to recent epidemics.

7. Shipment of exhibition materials

All participants are welcomed to share publications, or other materials, of their country or organization
with other participants at the exhibition stands of the conference venue. Should you wish to do so, you

8. Languages

Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in English, Spanish and French (please refer to the draft
agenda).

9. Health and insurance

Participants are responsible for their own medical care and own insurance for accident, medical
emergencies, loss of luggage and currency and against any damage, etc. The hotel will provide basic first-
aid services.

10. Climate and local time

During the month of September, the average maximum and minimum temperatures in Lom are 24C

12. Other useful information

Electricity
Electrical power in Togo is at 220-240 voltages (50 hertz). Plugs are of the European two-pronged
variety.

Telephone Services
Telephone services are available at hotels and restaurants. Pre-paid mobile telephone cards are available
at hotels and local cellular shops. It should be noted that telephone services at hotel and restaurant are
usually at expensive rates, so pre-paid mobile phone cards are recommended for oversea calls.

Dialing is as follows:
a. for local call: dial the number directly;
b. for international call: dial the international direct dial access (00) + country code (228) + number;
c. to call Togo from abroad, dial the international direct dial access (00) + country code (228) +
number; when calling from abroad, the 0 prefix of the area code should not be dialed.
