Lesson 2 (50 mins) No Lesson

Lesson 3 (100 mins)

CLASSROOM ACTIVITY: Start students inside (classroom or gym) to do the following activities:
- Provide students with a copy of the Touch Football Performance Standards/Criteria they are being marked on
- Give students time to read the document before focusing on section IC1 & IC2 (teamwork, leadership and initiation of tactics)
- Show 5-10 minute video of Professional Touch teams performing attacking plays and have students analyse movement patterns
- Have students remain in their teams and provide them with blank cards where they will have 15 minutes to draw up 1 or 2 set plays
that will help them score when attacking
- Students must then all become familiar with the plays and have a name to identify when to run it, or a plan to run it after a certain
amount of touches
Once offensive plays have been written and defensive structures have been organised students are to head back outside to practice these
plays in their teams for 20 minutes. They will begin by performing their own drill to practice the specific skill that is evident in their play
(e.g. wrap, dummy pass etc.), before practising it as a whole to ensure that player positioning and structure is correct.
GAME: Students will remain in their teams to play full field games where they can apply their tactical knowledge to run the set plays they
have created to try and beat their opponents. 1 field, 2 teams, 5 minute games or until someone scores and opposing team rotates.

Lesson 4 (50 mins)

Warm-up game: 10 minute game to test previous knowledge one field 2-3 teams.
Activity 1: Square passing/roll ball drill explain rules and structure 8 cones per group, 8 students per group, students switch roles.
Drill can be performed in teams if there are 3 teams of 8 students.
Activity 2: Half running/scooping drill 2 teams of 3-4, one
attacking and one defending, AIM: attack past defenders
while they are offside. One of the defenders begin laying
down near the ball, before the dummy half comes through
and scoops the ball up. Once this happens play is live and the
3 attackers must try to score as quickly as possible before
against the 2 defenders, before the 3rd defender can try and
get back onside to make the tag. Attackers spread out to
open up passing options and move the ball quickly before the
defender can get onside. NOTE: dummy half cannot be
tagged or score otherwise it is a turnover. For the sake of the
drill the scoop of the ball at the beginning is after the 4th
touch, meaning the attackers still have a touch to use before
having to score. Refer to diagram for structure. Play is set up
25 metres out from score line.
GAME: Students spend the rest of the lesson playing games in
the same teams as the warm-up game. When a team scores
the defending team rotates out.

Week 5 Practical Lesson 1 (100 mins)

single, double)
Lesson 2 (50 mins)

Revisit last lessons aims and focuses to refresh memories.
Introduce lesson aims Defending the Ruck & Gameplay
Warm-up game: 10 minute game to test previous knowledge (1 field, 2 teams)
Activity 1: Defending Rucking Drill teams number off into odds and evens (1,3,5 & 2,4,6). Odds make the odd touches and evens make
the even touches, while the other half of the defensive team pushes back and remains onside. Attackers try to run at the offside players or
players they know cannot make the next tag, meaning the defenders must work together to make the appropriate tags and ensure they
are onside.
GAME: Students get back into games and have to apply the numbering rules within that game. If an odd number defender makes a tag on
the even number or vice versa, the attacking team will be given all 6 touches back to try and score.
