Part B: Individual Assessment

1. Look at your data from number 1 in Part A. Explain why you grouped the items
the way you did.

We made 3 groups: solids, liquids and gases. We put all of the things that were solids
and held their shape in one column, all of the liquids that took the shape of their
container in another and all of the gases that filled the entire space of the contain in
another column.

2. Look at the date from number 2 in Part A, was the material that cleaned the spill
best, a solid, liquid or gas? Why was that property of matter more helpful than
the others?
The material that cleaned the spill best was a solid. This was helpful because the
solid holds its shape so it could pick up the spill without making a bigger mess
like a liquid did. A gas wouldnt help at all because it fills the whole space it is in
so the molecules arent close enough to pick up a spill.
