Jeff Judson Announcement Regarding Congressional Run
Forms Exploratory Committee to Assess Support in District 21
San Antonio TX – Jeff Judson, who has been influential in Texas public policy and politics for over 30 years, announced the formation of an intensive exploratory effort to assess a run to replace Lamar Smith, who has announced his retirement from the U.S. House representing the 21st Congressional District.
“Since Congressman Smith announced his retirement, I have been encouraged to launch a campaign for the seat. Grassroots leaders and public officials have all encouraged me to run,” Judson said. “The formation of the exploratory committee is the next logical step. With the filing deadline fast approaching, I’ll be making a final decision soon.
“I believe I have the right balance of conservative philosophy, deep connections to the district, and public policy and political experience to serve the Texas Hill Country and San Antonio in Congress,” Jeff Judson said. “But the courage to act decisively and to push boldly for needed reforms are the most important aspects of my personality, given the low productivity of politicians in Washington.”
Jeff is the Vice President for a small cancer drug development company, is the former president of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, served on the Olmos Park City Council, owns a small ranch with his brothers outside Sisterdale, and once served the people of the 21st Congressional District in the 1980s as a Legislative Assistant for Congressman Tom Loeffler. Jeff also represented much of the area as a member of the State Republican Executive Committee. As such, Jeff has deep connections to the land, politics, and culture of the Texas Hill Country and San Antonio.
