Care for Gods Creation

Explain how the social teaching could help to alleviate this

challenge/problem in your school
Respect for human life means respecting ALL of Gods creation, meaning we all should live in our
environment and take responsibility for it; live sustainably, live so that resources are evenly distributed.

In Genesis, Adam and Eve are given responsibility for caring for creation, but hasnt been a strong theme
over the last 2000 years. Care for creation has found to be a latecomer to Catholic Social Teaching.

Creation provides us with the physical fabric of our lives; the natural environment gives us the stuff we
use every day, yet it can so easily and so often be taken for granted.

Technology has given us a huge amount of benefits that have helped alleviate suffering and create new
methods of solidarity among people. We can also see how it has made it easier for us to become
alienated from our environment. New and efficient ways have been discovered to plunder the worlds
natural resources not to preserve it.
